Acer is introducing its newest concept gaming laptop that comes with detachable wireless controllers, the Project DualPlay, which aims to reduce the internal design of the laptop and provide more space for the wireless controllers that can be detached into three parts, allowing two players at the same time to play.
The controllers are mainly attached to a trackpad, held together with a laptop body by an electromagnetic lock. What is more fascinating about this laptop is that the wireless controllers are released once the user places two fingers on top of the touchpad. The controllers will be automatically charged when they are stored back in their housing and not in use.
Aside from the wireless controllers, the laptop also features an additional pair of 5W speakers on its sides that can be popped out for a more immersive sound experience. It can be unlocked once the user unlocks the controllers as well.
Additionally, the device boasts its customizable 360-degree dynamic RGB lighting on the keyboard, screen bezels, and wide trackpad area to add to its aesthetic value. The light show extends even further to the infinity mirror lighting bar at the backside and the detachable controller’s joysticks.
The Acer Predator Project DualPlay was introduced during the IFA Berlin as a concept gaming laptop, which is said to be great for first-person shooters or fight games. Its key specifications remained unknown as well, but it can play AAA titles like the Street Fighter 6, which supports dual controllers.
Unfortunately, Project DualPlay is currently just a concept and might not make it to the market. Hence, it was showcased in the IFA Berlin to see how the consumers would respond to the idea of Project DualPlay, helping Acer decide if they should push through with the production of the gaming laptop.
