As Dota 2 teams gear up for the PGL Wallachia Season 6, Europe-based organization OG Esports has recently acquired the former all-Filipino lineup of Team Aureus to represent them in Southeast Asia.
OG Esports is now composed of John Anthony 'Natsumi' Vargas, Erin Jasper 'Yopaj' Ferrer, Nikko 'Nikko' Bilocura, Timothy 'TIMS' Randrup, and Rolen Andrei Gabriel 'skem' Ong. They will be spearheaded by veteran Malaysian head coach Adam '343' Shah.
According to OG co-owner and CEO Xavier Oswald, their move from Europe to Southeast Asia and a whole new set of rosters is "about embracing a region with incredible talent" and a "chance to write another great story" in Dota 2.
The new OG roster have had a notable remarkable run during their entire Dota 2 careers, with Natsumi winning MESA Invitational 2024, Nikko (formerly 'Force') also winning Dota 2 World Invitationals, and the other members also securing an invitational win way back in 2022 at the Invitational Series Dubai.
OG Esports are two-time The International (TI) champions after winning back-to-back in 2018-2019. They also made history as the first and only Dota 2 team to win back-to-back and have five Dota 2 majors.
The OG Esports, with its new roster, is now competing in the PGL Wallachia Season 6 at Bucharest, Romania, and they have already made it to the playoffs.
