A Demon Slayer based game to be released this year

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. Following its success with the manga and anime adaptation, a sequel film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train premiered in October 2020 and then became the highest-grossing anime film and Japanese film of all time. With all of this success under the manga series, news of the Demon Slayer PS4 game was then released last year to the Kimetsu no Yaiba news section of Aniplex 48 hours special stream, through that, screenshots of the game and trailer were shared. It was then titled as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Hinokami Keppuutan.


To the delight of the fans, Aniplex and developer CyberConnect2 released new footage and screenshots introducing Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado that can be played in the versus mode. Tanjiro fights using the Water Breathing technique, a combat style that he trained under his mentor, Sakonji Urukodaki. While Nezuko Kamado uses the Demon power she possessed when she turned into a Demon herself when her family and her were attacked.


The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Hinokami Keppuutan was set to release via Steam this 2021 in Japan. It will be for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC. Add to that Aniplex introduced the second volume of the "Development Report" video series. It was also confirmed that the second season of Demon Slayer, titled as Kimetsu no Yaiba - Yūkaku-hen will premiere this year.


Aniplex is a Japanese anime and music production company owned by Sony Music Entertainment Japan and was established in September 1995. CyberConnect2 is a Japanese video game development studio known with .hack series and fighting games based on the anime Naruto.
