AOKZOE hints at releasing the A2 Ultra gaming handheld soon

Guild of Guardians
AOKZOE teased releasing its fourth new gaming handheld, and it will be the ultra variant of the A2 handheld that was previously released in December 2023. It is expected to be released later this year and will be powered by the Ryzen 7 7840U processor from AMD.

The announcement was based on AOKZOE’s recent post on Weibo, revealing their plans to release multiple devices this year, which include the A2 Ultra gaming handheld and other devices that are still unknown. However, AOKZOE hasn’t disclosed any details yet regarding the specifications of this variant.

While the company did not give additional information, there is a possibility that the A2 Ultra will feature the Ryzen 7 8840U “Hawk Point," serving as a direct replacement for A2’s Ryzen 7840U "Phoenix," which has almost the same specifications. Given that the upcoming handheld is an Ultra variant, the former may be reasonable.

If A2 Ultra has the Ryzen 7 8840U, then it will offer superior gaming performance at the expense of low TDP efficiency. But there are also some theories that this Ultra handheld will be powered by an Intel Core Ultra “Meteor Lake” processor to compete with the MSI Claw gaming handheld that is packed with an Intel Core Ultra 5 135H CPU.
