Apex Legends Mobile Updates - Beta Testing, Mobile Requirements, Release Date and Developers

With Apex Legends approaching it's 8th season, EA is looking forward to bringing the game into mobile space. It will be contesting the already well-established PUBG Mobile, Fortnite and CoD Mobile.

Andrew Wilson, the CEO of Electronic Arts Inc., previously announced the arrival of Apex Legends on Android and iOS platforms. Now, playtests and beta testing are already commencing for a selected group of people.

According to Reddit user EXO_R3EECH, the Apex Legends Mobile playtest is exclusive for players who registered in advance on EA's official website. Although the game will be available on both Android and iOS, the playtest is currently out for Android users only. EXO_R3EECH added that the device requirements are Google Pixel 3 or above and Samsung Galaxy S8 or above. This is based on the game's testing phase for Android users.

On the other hand, a report from IGN India also revealed some information about the required specs. "Spec requirements include an A11 Bionic and above for iOS which would suggest than an iPhone 8 and above would be enough to run Apex Legends Mobile. As for Android devices, at the moment it appears that those with a Snapdragon 625 or above would be enough to play the game."

There is no official release date yet, but it is expected to arrive around the third quarter of 2021. There will also be an early soft launch in China, about 2 to 3 months from now. In a Q3 report, EA has confirmed that they are working with a Chinese partner in developing the game. It has been suggested that EA is teaming up with Tencent for this production.

Apex Legends will also have a Switch release and will be launching in the platform on March 9, 2021. This version was handled by port-wizard Panic Button Studios.
