Asphalt 8 celebrates new UI overhaul and Special Edition Anniversary Events

Apple Arcade was originally intended to be a platform for new and exclusive games, but the company opted early this year to include old titles to its subscription gaming service. The popular racing game "Asphalt 8: Airborne" will be released on Apple Arcade later this week, with no in-app payments.

The Asphalt franchise predates the iPhone App Store, having debuted in 2004 as a Nintendo DS game. After 17 years, Asphalt has received fresh updates and is now available on additional platforms, including iOS, Windows, and even macOS. The most recent edition, Asphalt 9, is one of the most popular games on the App Store.

For the next eight days, there will be various incentives and freebies for both new and veteran players. The Asphalt Special Edition Anniversary Bugatti Bolide is a great way to commemorate this significant occasion. With the new Racer Avatar function, you can get into this beast and take control of the roadways. This new feature is a much-needed wardrobe boost for all Asphalt racers. Players may mix and combine to build the ultimate racing outfit with a variety of accessories and costumes to pick from.

Kirill Sergienko, Game Manager of Asphalt 8: Airborne said, “In the mobile gaming space, it’s uncommon for games to reach the milestone of five years, much less eight. Asphalt 8: Airborne is an incredible title, and we’re excited to see it entertain players to such a great milestone. Players should certainly dive into the Racer Avatar feature – it’s really cool.”

Long-time Asphalt 8 gamers will be surprised by the user interface. Gameloft is revamping Airborne's user interface to coincide with the game's overall makeover.

The shift in the gameplay concept is one of the most intriguing aspects of having Asphalt 8 available on Apple Arcade. Current Asphalt games (including Asphalt 8) are free-to-play, which means that anybody may download them for free. However, the game includes a number of goods that can only be purchased through in-app payments.

Because customers already pay for a membership, all games featured on Apple Arcade must include all goods at no additional cost. To put it another way, the Apple Arcade version of Asphalt 8 will rely only on in-game money to access additional content.
