Bandai Namco releases gameplay footage of Sword Art Online Variant Showdown

Bandai Namco Entertainment reveals new gameplay footage of their upcoming mobile game Sword Art Online Variant Showdown. With the gameplay being revealed, the game will be an action RPG, wherein players will be controlling a party of three. A multiplayer battle royale mode is said to be in development as well.

The gameplay footage was released in the first live stream of Sword Art Online Variant Showdown, which showed a short battle segment of Kirito, Asuna, and Silica fighting The Gleam Eyes. Players will be controlling one character at a time and they can switch between the three characters while in battle. Yui will be the guide of the party.

There are three types of characters: Attackers, Defenders, and Supporters. Attackers specialize in attacking, defenders are good at absorbing and continuous attacks, and supporters enhance their teammates’ abilities and debuff enemies. These characters will have access with these three character skills, which are Attack skills, Recovery skills, and Support skills.

Moreover, each character can enter the Awakening state. While in this state, the characters will have no cooldown timer, which will allow players to switch between the characters anytime. They can also access the powerful Finishing skill once they have entered the Awakening state.

Sword Art Online Variant Showdown will simultaneously launch worldwide this 2022 in Android and iOS devices. If interested, you can pre-register the game via its official social media sites.
