Black Desert Online Named in World's Top 5 Open-World RPGs

Pearl Abyss announced today that Black Desert Online has become one of the world's top 5 open-world RPGs.

According to the global game market research company Newzoo, open-world games have been among the most popular game genres on console and PC for the past decade. Black Desert Online is the only Korean game to become one of the world's top 5 open-world RPGs for PC according to the Data Deep Dive: Open-World Games report released by Newzoo.

Black Desert Online has maintained its popularity through constant updates and services. The game started self-publishing in North America and Europe in February, followed by the global update of the new Sage class and the first co-op dungeon Atoraxxion.

Black Desert Online has also been recognized as the most popular game on other global game ranking sites. It ranked first in sales and popularity of MMORPGs on Steam in March and was named the "Most Played MMORPG" based on research conducted by Turkey's largest online game store Oyunfor.

Pearl Abyss plans to share new updates and communicate with the Black Desert users across all platforms and regions through the global user event "2021 Heidel Ball" on June 19.
