During the recent Blizzcon 2019 event, Blizzard announced the sequel to their FPS game, Overwatch. Aptly named Overwatch 2, the sequel will feature new maps, PvE missions, a new mode and a new hero.
Released in 2016, Overwatch became one of the most well known game in the resume of Blizzard. It used the hero type shooter concept, investing in the story of the characters and giving each of them different characteristics and abilities, allowing for a unique playstyle on every heroes. While Overwatch mainly focused on the PvP aspect of the game in the past, on Overwatch 2, players will be able to deeply explore the stories of each heroes as the game will feature dedicated story missions and a PvE mode where players will team up to defeat AI enemies, allowing players to immerse in the story of each heroes and see the connection between them. During these missions, players will be able to modify their characters' skills to help them accomplish missions easier.
A new mode called "Push" will also be introduced, a mode similar to the escort mode, where the player will need to escort a robot to a destination, but the robot doesn't heal allies around the area and it is riskier to leave it alone compared to the payload. Along with the new game mode, new maps will also be introduced to the game, it includes Gothenburg, Toronto, Monte Carlo and Rio de Janeiro.
Blizzard also introduced the newest addition to the hero roster, and her name is Sojourn. While her abilities are yet to be announced, Blizzard gave a bit of her story. She was once a captain of Overwatch organization and worked with several of the existing heroes. She also has cybernetic implants which is likely to be a part of her skills.
