BOOM Esports proves once again that they will not be defeated easily.
In the grand finals of Mineski Masters, BOOM Esports went against the Thai-based Dota 2 team Motivate.Trust Gamin who is dubbed as Pinoy Slayers. The situation was dire for BOOM in the BO5 of the Grand Finals of Mineski Masters as the current score at that time was a 2-0 in favor of MTG.
But BOOM managed to reverse sweep MTG. It all started in the third game wherein Erin Jasper "Yopaj" Ferrer went berserk on his mid Ember Spirit and accumulated a 31-5-16 KDA. The third match went on for 71 minutes because of Souliya "JaCkky" Khoomphetsavong's high ground Medusa however, it still wasn’t enough to turn the third match in MTG’s favor.
The fourth match was just like the second match in the grand finals where the unconventional draft of BOOM Esports was taken advantage of by MTG to win; however, in the fourth, BOOM Esports emerged as a winner.
After the four previous matches, the fifth match was what really decided the fates of the two teams. The fifth game was really a showdown of the two teams wanting to prove that they are the best in the competitive play of Dota 2. Motivate.Trust Gaming took a hold of the game for the first 30 minutes but was overturned by BOOM Esports in the second half resulting in a 3-2 reverse sweep by the latter earning them the title as champions as well as taking home around $8,000 as their prize money.
BOOM Esports continue to dominate the Dota 2 esports scene and is currently the team that has the best record since the post-TI10 roster change. The team has previously won the BTS Pro Series S9 and now, the new addition to their accolades is the championship title that they have won in Mineski Masters.
BOOM Esports and Motivate.Trust Gaming will be competing in the Division 1 of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) SEA 2021-2022: Tour 1.
