According to industry insider Tom Henderson, who has a strong track record for Call of Duty and Battlefield leaks, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is reportedly to be released by Activision in 2022.

Although the game has never been officially announced by Activision, Warzone Mobile has been referenced several times in a job advert posted online last year and just this week, Warzone Mobile had been added to the database of PlaytestCloud, a platform that offers playtesting services for mobile game creators.

In August, Activision confirmed that they were forming an internal mobile game development studio called Solid State. It was established for the purpose of developing a new entry in the Call of Duty series.

It was later then revealed that Beenox, Activision Shanghai, and Digital Legends, which was recently acquired by Activision, has also been working on a new Call of Duty mobile game all throughout this 2021.

After Solid State’s existence has been revealed by a series of job adverts, Activision officially announces the formation of the studio during the company’s second quarter earnings call back in August.

“As we think about long-term, where we see more compelling growth on the [mobile] platform, I’d say we believe there’s an opportunity to better connect mobile to the overall Call of Duty ecosystem and we’re aggressively hiring talent to help on this journey,” said Activision president Rob Kostich.

“We’ve created our own internal mobile studio and are driving a major recruiting effort, across Beenox and Activision Shanghai to support as well, and together these teams are leading an unannounced new mobile project in the Call of Duty franchise which we’re very excited about.”

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile sounds promising especially with its popularity to players. Let’s hope that a mobile version will really be launched by next year. Let’s wait for further announcements by the developers.
