Clash Royale announces February 2023 Season 44 update and balance changes

Clash Royale, a strategy game by Supercell, has released its Season 44 update, with the title 'Love and Magic', for February 2023. The theme is also called such since it focuses on the month of love, February. Let's see what this update has in store for us as well as talk about the balancing changes that will shortly go into effect, as there will be some new occurrences and magical moments coming into the game.

Clash Royale Season 44 Update Details

New Tower Skins

The Love Potion and Magic Archer Tower are two new Tower skins that Supercell has created and made available to players as the season update's starting point. The concept of "Love and Magic" will be used to decorate the towers, with the Arena serving as the main attraction. The Love Potion has a pink exterior and a gold shimmer on its outside. The Magic Archer Tower skin, on the other hand, has a jungle green color with a wood accent that evokes the feeling of playing a game in the wild. Overall, both tower skins look fantastic.

Magic Archer Event

The main attraction of this event will be the sniping magician, who has a mind-blowing talent. With those love arrows blasting at them, the Super Magic Archer may now mesmerize the opposing troops or building to succumb to his seduction and turn them to your side. So don't pass up this opportunity to hold the magic in your hands!

Brand New Emotes and Banners

The new Magic Archer, Golem, and Sparky Emotes should not be overlooked. With the next in-game special events, they can be unlocked. You would adore having a Battle Banner on your profile, and this update provides plenty of them. The trailer reveals some incredible banners, so be sure to keep an eye on the store to purchase some of the themed banners this time.

Clash Royale Season 44 Balance Changes

Keep in mind that these card buffs and nerfs are already live.

Buffed Cards

Monk - Since the monk's elixir cost increased from 4 to 5, his utilization has decreased significantly. Supercell intended to keep his Ability's cost at 1 elixir despite many gamers calling for it to increase (4+2 instead of 5+1). Therefore, they changed his stats to reflect his 5-elixir price. He will hit 0.1 seconds faster after achieving balance, increasing DPS by 13%.
  • Hit Speed: -0.1sec (11% faster)
Firecracker - Firecracker occasionally has problems selecting the proper targets for her shots. Players occasionally discover that she will aim at something but not actually shoot. Sometimes, this strange aiming behavior makes for a difficult playing experience. This behavior is influenced by a number of factors, including Hit Speed, First Hit Speed, Targeting Logic, etc. She will receive a slight First Hit Speed enhancement so that she can target and launch her rockets more quickly in order to permanently address this unanticipated behavior. Technically, this is a bug fix.
  • First Hit: -0.4sec (40% faster)
Archers - Archers are among the first cards in a player's card collection to be unlocked, but their popularity has declined as players have discovered other, more useful range support units, such as. Goblins, dart. They will gain a 0.2 sec hit time, making them 18% faster, to provide them a position in the meta and make them a viable choice to deal with swarms. As a result, their DPS will rise by a respectable +22% as a result.
  • Hit Speed: -0.2sec (18% faster)
Goblin Giant - The utilization of Goblin Giant has recently been somewhat low. Because of this, he will now provide the Spear Goblins in his backpack a 0.2 sec hit speed enhancement (12% faster), increasing their overall DPS by +13%.
  • Hit Speed: -0.2sec (12% faster)
Knight - After balancing, the "best stats for his cost" will have even better stats! Knight has recently been less popular as more useful cards like Valkyrie and Royal Ghost have gotten more attention. So that he may boast about his tankiness in addition to his mustache, he will receive a +3% HP increase.
  • Hitpoints: +3%

Nerfed Cards

Rocket - Many people are annoyed by the required Rocket-cycle at the end of the game, particularly during 3x Elixir Overtime. Your requests have been heard, and Supercell will severely reduce Rocket's damage to the towers by -17%. Supercell chose to standardize crown tower damage for spells at 30% back in August 2020, which was more than two and a half years ago. From this point on, this Rocket balance will differ from the norm.
  • Crown Tower Damage: -17%
Phoenix - Phoenix had seen numerous rounds of nerfs, yet it still ranks among the game's strongest cards, as evidenced by both her use rate and win rate. Phoenix's base numbers won't change, but the Reborn Phoenix's health and damage will be scaled back. Reborn Phoenix will only have 80% of her starting HP + damage numbers after the adjustment. Her reincarnated form will also have a minor visual change in-game and look a little bit smaller than it did before.
  • ‘Reborn’ Phoenix: 80% of total Damage and Hitpoints
The Log - In all game modes, The Log has long been the most played card. It is the very definition of OP in Grand Challenges at a 40% usage with a 49% win rate. For a time, the balance team had sought to weaken this card. In response to strong community protest, a suggested change was even made a work-in-progress change for Season 36 (May 2022), but Supercell ultimately decided to roll it back.
  • Pushback: 1 tile > 0.7 tiles (30% reduction)
Archer Queen - In the meta, Archer Queen continues to be incredibly powerful, especially in competitive play and the worldwide leaderboard. After adjustments, she will have a greatly reduced First Hit Time (0.2 sec or 200% slower), which will make it take much longer for her to charge up her crossbow.
  • First Hit: +0.2s (200% slower)
