Today I would like to share some experience with you about the "Hog Rider + Freeze" combo.

1. First created by Chief Pat

2. Improved by Davidgg

3. My own Deck

The "Hog Rider + Freeze" is a popular deck from Arena 5 to Arena 7, and there are some common combos, like:

[Hog Rider + Freeze]

Key of this combo is the timing of Freeze. Hog Rider will be attacked by the enemy if you cast the Freeze too early, or the Hog Rider will be dead if you cast too late. While you catch the perfect timing, you always can get an Arena Tower down.

[Hog Rider + Goblins]

In this combo, the Hog Rider should be charged to the front, and the Goblins trailing behind. The Hog and the Goblins approach tower at the same time.

[Hog Rider + AOE]

The AOE can be Baby Dragon or Wizard. AOE first then the Hog follows up.

Hog Rider deck is really popular in Clash Royale nowadays. I assume you will meet many Hog Rider decks with different combos either in Arena 4 or in Arena 7. Today's deck recommendation is about Hog Rider + Mini Pekka, which can deal incredible damage to your opponent's Archer Tower if Mini Pekka managed to get through.

To get an idea on how to play this combo, Ash brought us another good video.

Now there are certain variations of this deck that I like to use. To make it more a much more offensive-oriented deck, you can replace the Fireball for Freeze Spell and replace the Inferno for the Cannon and Arrows for Zap Spell, to decrease your average elixir cost. This will make the deck a much more fast paced heavy offense deck, that can be very infuriating for your opponent to stop. So in this video I’m going to show you guys some live battles with both variations of this deck. I was able to obtain around 200 trophies quickly in Legendary Arena in one 30 minutes session with this deck!

Fireball + Hog Rider deck:

You must have seen a lot of Freeze + Hog Rider if you are fighting at Arena 6-7. This combo is still good, but needs a lot of practice on the timing of dropping Freeze. If you find it difficult to master Freeze + Hog Rider, maybe Fireball + Hog Rider is worth a try.

Why Fireball?
Compared with Freeze and Lightning, Fireball is more flexible for it can easily counter Three Musketeers, Minion Horde and Barbarians at both attack and defense.

Drop your Minion Horde in the middle right behind the King Tower
Minion Horde will split to 2 groups and attack from both lanes so your opponent's Arrows can't kill them all.

Always use Goblins to accompany Hog Rider when attack
Goblins and Hog Rider are the best partners with excellent power to damage buildings.

When to play Fireball?
When your Hog Rider is about to reach the tower, drop a fireball between Hog Rider and the tower to: (1) damage the tower, or (2) clear the defending units (usually Minion Horde and Barbarians).

Drop fireball here at this moment

If your Hog Rider is drew by defensive building (Inferno Tower, Tesla, Cannon, etc.), drop the Fireball on that building if: (1) you get at least 3 Elixir left after playing a fireball, or (2) you have at least a Cannon or Inferno Tower placed on your side.

Hog Rider + Mini PEKKA

Today I will recommend a Hog and Mini PEKKA deck that I used to climb from 1200 trophies to 2000 trophies in Clash Royale. The Hog and Mini PEKKA are your key cards and will obviously be used to push/counter and get crowns. The Elixir cost for Hog and Mini PEKKA is 8. When you build Elixir lead or enter double Elixir time, you should find the best timing to use this combo. Many players do not have a deck built to stop both Hog and Mini PEKKA, and I usually use arrows and fireballs to make a clear path for them.

During the earlier stage of the game, the best strategy is playing defensive and generating an Elixir lead. The Hog and Mini PEKKA can crash opponent tower and crowns very fast, the only thing you have to do is finding a perfect time to use them. The nice part about having both of these cards in the same deck is that they can set up pushes for each other and clear defenses for a future push.

Cards: Hog Rider, Arrows, Spear Goblins, Tesla, Fireball, Mini PEKKA, Archers, Baby Dragon
