Code Geass Project announced in their recent Youtube Live two exciting gifts for their fans - a game and a new anime series. If you're a true fan of the Lelouch saga, then you already know why they scheduled the announcement exactly last December 5th. Aside from the franchise celebrating its 15th anniversary, it was the birthday of our dear Lelouch vi Britannia! Well, that's enough for the introduction and let's get into the details.
Code Geass Genesic Re;CODE took the first highlight of the announcement. Just as our title states, the game will be released this coming Spring 2021 in Japan. According to their site, this is a mobile RPG that will feature characters from all the Code Geass titles such as Akito the Exiled, Renya of Darkness, Oz the Reflection, and, of course, the Lelouch saga. This new game and the new anime series are part of the 10-Year Plan which was announced back in 2019 wherein Lelouch of the Re;surrection was introduced as Phase I of the said plan.
A crossover story will bring new characters in the game which includes Al (voiced by Shun Horie), Gigi (voiced by Yuuki Takada), and Archive (voiced by Yumiri Hanamori). They were also introduced during the live announcement and you guessed it right, they're the ones in the image above. During the announcement, there was a part where they showed what seems to be a rough idea of what we're going to see in the game soon.
As you can see, the quality is still kind of rough and still needs a good amount of polishing job. As for the other greyed image, it seems that the game will also feature some kind of simulation or strategy genre in it. We can't say for sure, but we'll see it all once the game is released.
Before we head out to the "mystery" part, let's talk about the second highlight of the announcement. Code Geass: Z of the Recapture is a new upcoming anime series that will pick up the story where the Lelouch of the Re;surrection movie left off. That's all we know for now. There was no further information shared regarding the plot, characters, and official broadcast of this new anime.
Now, you all know me. I love finding unexpected sources, sites, and other related stuff when it comes to our new content. So I found something peculiar during my hunt for the official game site. It seems that they're conducting some sort of "mystery challenge" and the prize is unbelievable. The words are in Japanese characters so it's hard to fully understand what it's all about. But, based on the basic translations, here's what we know:
The fixed prize is 1 million Japanese Yen for the one who will be able to solve the whole mystery. And, if there is more than 1 winner, a lottery will be conducted among the winners. One person will get 500,000 Yen while five other winners will receive 100,000 each in a total of, still, 1 million yen. That's almost half a million Philippine Peso!
And, if the translation was correct, any official challengers will get the chance to ask Takahiro Kimura, the character designer of the Code Geass anime series, to draw an illustration of their chosen character and receive it as a gift! There are no indications of any country restrictions or if this challenge is exclusively for Japan. So, best of luck people! All the links you need are down below!
