It has been two weeks of awesome esports action at the prestigious Top Clans 2020, and the teams, fans, talents, and influencers involved in the competition are proving that #ThisIsPassion for them, and that they are committed to making this the biggest tournament in Southeast Asia this year.
ROS THRONE UP FOR GRABS BETWEEN VIETNAM AND PHILIPPINES
Some of the most popular Filipino teams such as Team Secret, Maniac Esports, and No Rules X Gaming (NRX) topped the Group Stage of the Rules of Survival (ROS) SEA Invitational, proving that the Philippines is still the team to beat in the ROS esports scene. Vietnam is looking to challenge the throne with teams like IS ƉƠM and Nerver Be Alone securing one of the top 3 spots in their respective groups. Defending champion Lesavage Gaming didn’t look as good as they were last year, but they were able to snag a spot in the Semifinals.
CAN THAILAND’S TUBY MAKE THE MIRACULOUS COMEBACK FROM THE LOSERS BRACKET IN MARVEL SUPER WAR?
The Philippines has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with in the MARVEL Super War (MSW) SEA Invitational after all PH teams made it out of the group stage in dominating fashion. But one team stood out among the competition, Imperium Pro Team (IPT), who has only dropped one game throughout their amazing run to the Upper Bracket. IPT had the most lopsided and quickest games, as well as perfect games where the enemy wasn’t even able to take a tower or a single knockout.
Standing in IPT’s way is fellow PH squad NMD Rage, equally hungry for pride and glory, and a chance to prove that they are the best MSW team in Southeast Asia. As well as Tuby, Thailand’s last hope in the competition. Find out who will move on to the Grand Finals when the tournament resumes for the Lower Bracket and Upper Bracket Finals on October 23, 2020.
MOTIVATE.TRUST GAMING AND GALAXY RACER STUN THE COMPETITION AFTER CLINCHING TOP SEED IN GROUPS
The DOTA 2 SEA Invitational was as competitive as it could get, with no clear cut top teams until the last day of the Group Stage. In Group A, 2019 SEA Games champion Adroit Esports played second fiddle against Thailand’s Motivate.Trust Gaming, who claimed 1st seed out of groups. But what was truly surprising was IO DOTA2’s performance despite being led by some of the most storied players in Ohaiyo and Mushi, and failing to make it out of the Group Stage.
Group B was a much tougher group, with the competition having to extend because of a 3-way tie between Galaxy Racer, Execration, and Neon Esports. Vying for the 1st and 2nd seed to the Knockout Stage, Galaxy Racer dominated the tiebreaker games claiming the top spot for themselves, with Neon Esports settling for the second place out of groups.

PBE | AK RECLAIMS TEKKEN 7 SOUTHEAST ASIA THRONE
The Top Clans 2020 TEKKEN 7 leg featured the best players from all over Southeast Asia and a 5,000 USD prize pool. All medalists from the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, Nopparut "Book" Hempamorn (TH), Alexandre "AK" Laverez, and Andreij "Doujin" Albar, showed up at Top Clans 2020, but surprisingly, only AK managed to make it to the Playoffs along with Omega | Jules in Group B. Meanwhile, in Group A Malaysia’s Yoodo FV | ZABA captured the 1st seed with Secretbase | Adrian taking the second spot.
The grand finals was a classic showdown between AK and Jules, who’ve faced each other already in numerous finals of local tournaments. AK went on to win the series, 3-2, despite Jules’ surprise Leroy pick that rattled AK in early rounds. This victory cemented AK’s position as one of the best, if not the best, TEKKEN 7 player in Southeast Asia.
TOM AND JERRY: CHASE KICK OFF GROUP STAGE
Top clans 2020 is the debut of the Tom and Jerry: Chase esports scene. Developed by NetEase Games in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Tom and Jerry: Chase is a mobile game where players can select to play as either a cat or mouse, and the first-ever 2D 1v4 asymmetric mobile game.
