Counter-Strike 2 will have its first Major event tournament in 2024 featuring a massive prize pool

Tournament organizer PGL has announced that there will be a Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) major that will take place in Copenhagen next year. This marks the beginning of the Counter-Strike 2 esports era which will commence on March 17th to March 31st. The tournament will be hosted in one of the largest and most prestigious indoor arenas in the world, the Royal Arena in Denmark.

Featuring 24 of the best Counter-Strike 2 teams in the world, the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 event offers a massive prize pool of $1,250,000 USD or ₱6,802,1875 PHP. The winners will not only take home the title of Major Champion but also the lion’s share of the prize pool.

Denmark has a rich esports heritage, and we are excited to bring the world's best Counter-Strike teams to Copenhagen to compete for the game's most prestigious title”, said PGL Ceo Silviu Stroie in the official announcement.

Ticket selling for the event will be available soon as well as more information will be revealed, like which teams will participate and the format, as the day gets closer to the start of the event. Stay tuned!
