Tournament organizer PGL has announced that there will be a Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) major that will take place in Copenhagen next year. This marks the beginning of the Counter-Strike 2 esports era which will commence on March 17th to March 31st. The tournament will be hosted in one of the largest and most prestigious indoor arenas in the world, the Royal Arena in Denmark.
Featuring 24 of the best Counter-Strike 2 teams in the world, the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 event offers a massive prize pool of $1,250,000 USD or ₱6,802,1875 PHP. The winners will not only take home the title of Major Champion but also the lion’s share of the prize pool.
“One of the greatest games of all time is marching to another chapter, and we couldn't be happier to host probably the most important Major of the franchise in recent years. Denmark has a rich esports heritage, and we are excited to bring the world's best Counter-Strike teams to Copenhagen to compete for the game's most prestigious title”, said PGL Ceo Silviu Stroie in the official announcement.
