What is Dynasty Warriors?

Omega Force and Koei created the Dynasty Warriors hack and slash action video game franchise. The video game is based on China's classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and it takes place between the end of the Han Dynasty and the founding of the Jin Dynasty.

The video game has a massive cast of characters, including Cao Cao, Lu Bu, and Zhuge Liang, some of China's most colorful, powerful, and charismatic figures of the time.

The player fights swarms of adversaries and encounters other great enemy Lieutenants and Generals in ancient conflicts. Musou's abilities allow the player to instantly eliminate dozens of adversaries.

Dynasty Warriors, the series' debut video game, was published on PlayStation 1 in February 1997, while Dynasty Warriors 9, the franchise's most current entry, was published on various platforms in February 2018.
