Fortnite Mobile will be for Ages 18 and Up Players Only

Since Fortnite’s removal from the Google Play Store and App Store in August 2020, Fortnite players have not received any updates of the game from that point on. The removal was due to Epic’s legal disputes with Apple and Google.

So far, players have missed out on the Marvel-centric season to the new Island that went live in December of last year. However, the bad news does not end there as Epic Games notes that additional limitations will take place soon on the older build.

Starting on January 30, iOS, Mac, and Google Play users who still operate the 13.40 version of Fortnite will be in a lot of distress as the V-Bucks will become useless and an age restriction of 18 and up will be implemented in the game.

Epic Games relayed the news through their official Twitter, Fortnite Status. In the tweet, the publisher blamed the upcoming changes on “Apple and Google’s restrictions.”

While there may be further restrictions that will be put into place in the future, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney has posted a tweet on the eve of the new year that has given hope to Fortnite players. His tweet suggested that Fortnite could return to iOS in full force this 2023. Stay tuned for further development!
