Galaxy Racer Is Your VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 3 Challengers 2 Winner

After falling short against Bren Esports in the previous grand finals of Challengers 1, Galaxy Racer bounces back and claims the title of VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 3 Challengers 2 Champion!


Coached by GXR Tr1cks and GXR Pizzafps, the team consisting of Emmanfps, Yohann, Georgyyy, ChinG, and Kaaarl came up big and wins the recent grand finals of the tournament over SV Empire with a match score of 3-1 on Sunday, July 25, 2021. It has already been pretty much expected, following their dominant performance throughout the whole event. After being defeated by Bren Esports in the grand finals of Challengers 1, Galaxy Racer were automatically seeded into the recent VCT Challengers event.

Galaxy Racer easily cruised the event against the qualifier teams Sierra Esports Atlas with a match score of 2-0 and Alpha Esports Pro with a match score of 2-1 to participate in the VCT Challengers grand finals for the 2nd consecutive time. Their supreme skills eventually led them to face a then surging SV Empire who wiped off UCFC Esports and Oasis Gaming, both with a match score of 2-0.


Galaxy Racer got off to a fast start in the finals, dominating the first half of game 1 in Split with a score of 10-2, and eventually winning the match with a score of 13-6. They maintained their dominance in the first half of game two in Breeze, taking an 8-4 round lead. However, SV Empire rallied and went on a 9-2 run in the second half to steal a victory. Game three on Icebox was shaping up to be another closely-contested affair, with Galaxy Racer only holding a 7-5 lead at halftime. However, they came out firing after the side switch, winning the map with a score of 13-6 and taking a dominating 2-1 series lead.

With the game's momentum on their side, Galaxy Racer dominated the first half of game four in Ascent, taking a commanding 9-3 lead after the first half of the game. Even though SV Empire managed to take six rounds after the side switch, it was Galaxy Racer who emerged victorious, taking the final four rounds to win the game by a score of 13-9 and claim the Philippines' Stage 3 Challengers 2 championship.

Galaxy Racer won the grand prize of PHP100,000 or about US$2,000 and a position in the 2021 VCT Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs for Southeast Asia, which will take place in August and choose the region's two representatives at the VCT Stage 3 Masters event to be held in Berlin, Germany this September. Meanwhile, SV Empire received a consolation prize of PHP60,000 or about US$1,200. They also secured seats in the Stage 3 Challengers 3 event for the Philippines this early August, along with third and fourth-placed teams Oasis Gaming and Alpha Esports Pro, where a final chance to qualify for Southeast Asia's Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs awaits.
