With the upcoming release of update 2.3, we’ll be seeing Albedo’s banner rerun and some new characters added to the mix. Since there’s a chance for some of you to get Albedo for the first time, let’s have a little refresher on his abilities and the best sets to ensure you get the best out of his character.

But before getting into that, if you’re looking for a place to get your Genesis Crystals, you can try out OffGamers right here! You’ll probably need it if you run out of luck on Albedo or Eula’s banner.

Character Background & Banner Info

As the Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team for the Knights of Favonius, Albedo is a quiet and curious character that likes to keep to himself and get lost in his work. He’s primarily a Geo character that wields a sword in the game.

There are not many Geo characters in the game, let alone powerful ones, but Albedo can be a handful if you build him up with the best-curated items and weapons. His banner rerun will come after Eula’s banner rerun with update 2.3. It is also rumoured that Bennett, Rosaria and Noelle will be joining them in the banners.

This double banner system ensures that if you don’t get one five-star character, your chances will be brought forward for the next banner so you won’t be starting from scratch and will be able to get a five-star character eventually throughout the event.

Elemental Abilities

Talent: Favonius Bladework - Weiss
Type: Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack
Description:
  1. Normal: Performs 5 rapid strikes.
  2. Charged: Consumes stamina and unleashes 2 rapid sword strikes.
  3. Plunging: Plunges to the ground dealing AoE damage and any opponents on the path.

Talent: Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma
Type: Elemental Skill
Description: Creates a Solar Isotoma that deals AoE Geo DMG. When those within the Solar Isotoma field take DMG, Solar Isotoma will generate Transient Blossoms that deal AoE Geo DMG. Amount of DMG dealt scales of Albedo’s DEF. If there’s a character in the middle of the Solar Isotoma, a crystallized platform will appear and lift them up. The Solar Isotoma is considered a Geo construct and only one can exist at a time.

Talent: Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide
Type: Elemental Burst
Description: Geo crystals surge and burst forward to deal AoE Geo DMG. If a Solar Isotoma is on the field, 7 Fatal Blossoms will generate in the Isotoma’s field that will burst into bloom and deal AoE Geo DMG. Tectonic Tide and Fatal Blossom DMG do not generate Transient Blossoms.

Talent: Calcite Might
Type: 1st Ascension Passive
Description: Transient Blossoms generated by Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma deals 25% more DMG to opponents with HP below 50%.

Talent: Homuncular Nature
Type: 4th Ascension Passive
Description: When using Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide, Elemental mastery of nearby party members increases by 125 for 10s.

Talent: Flash of Genius
Type: Utility Passive
Description: There’s a 10% chance to receive double the product when Albedo crafts weapon ascension materials.

Constellations

C1: Flower of Eden
Description: Any Transient Blossoms that Albedo generates through Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma regenerates 1.2 Energy for Albedo.

C2: Opening of Phanerozoic
Description: Generated Transient Blossoms will grant Albedo Fatal Reckoning for 30s. Unleashing Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide will consume all Fatal Reckoning stacks. Each consumed stack increases DMG dealt by Fatal Blossoms & Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide by 30% of Albedo’s DEF. The effect is stackable up to 4 times.

Best Artifact Recommendations

Archaic Petra

The best artifact for Albedo would be the 2-piece Archaic Petra as it allows him to gain a 15% Geo DMG bonus. When obtaining an Elemental Shard through a Crystallize reaction, party members would gain a 35% DMG bonus for 10s based on the element.

Tenacity of The Milileth

When equipped with a 2-piece of the Tenacity of The Milileth, it adds 20% to your HP. When your Elemental Skill hits an enemy, your party members’ ATK increases by 20%, and shield strength increases by 30% for 3s. The effect can be triggered once every 0.5s even without the character on the field.

Noblesse Oblige

Equipping this 2-piece set will allow your Elemental Burst DMG to increase by 20%. Using your Elemental Burst will increase your party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect is non stackable.

Defender’s Will

This 2-piece set will increase your DEF by 30% and your Elemental RES by 30% for each element available in your party.

Best Team Recommendations

Albedo is best suited for a support role or a sub DPS due to his long-lasting abilities and shields. If you’re looking for the best team you can pair with Albedo, you could use Ningguang, Hu Tao and Venti together. Ningguang and Hu Tao will act as the DPS and sub DPS as they have high DMG output and can easily take down enemies. Venti could act as support as he can herd enemies and lead them towards Albedo to lay down continuous Geo DMG.

For free to play players, if you happen to pull Albedo, you could use Xiangling, Kaeya and Noelle in your party. Xiangling and Noelle could work together as DPS and sub DPS as Xiangling can trigger elemental reactions with her pyro abilities and both of them are high damage dealers. Kaeya could help with Support as his Cryo compliments Xiangling’s Pyro to trigger Melt.

There you have it! A simple and easy to follow guide for Albedo in case you happen to pull him for the first time. Either way, you’re bound to have some fun with his unique character and if you’re aiming to build an all Geo party, he’s one that you would definitely want on the team. His AoE attacks are useful and his shields are great for support!
