Genshin Impact Update 2.0 Cross-Save Will Be Introduced on All Platforms

On July 21, the massive Genshin Impact 2.0 update will be released, and along with all of the many new features, developer miHoYo has revealed that cross-save support will be added to all platforms.

Genshin Impact has already received an update that will introduce the brand new electro-themed area of Inazuma to the already massive game, as well as the guarantee of new characters and a new power for the Traveller. Now, miHoYo has revealed that Genshin Impact will finally have cross-progression saving across all of its platforms.

Players who have downloaded Genshin Impact on PC through Epic or the miHoYo launcher, PS4, PS5, or mobile will be able to link their PSN and miHoYo accounts using the same email address once the 2.0 version is released. Players will be able to effortlessly transfer their progress and any in-game data between platforms, as well as resume their game on a new machine.

However, there is a catch to this. While users must link their miHoYo and PSN accounts with the same email address, that email address cannot have previously been used to play Genshin on either platform. If you signed up for Genshin on both the PS4/PS5 and the PC before the 2.0 upgrade, you'll need to use a different email address on each.

Aside from that, this is fantastic news for Genshin Impact players, since it is a long-awaited feature and a welcome addition to the game's already jam-packed calendar. Even before the 2.0 update, there will be a slew of new characters, including the much-anticipated Kazuha and the recently revealed Sayu. As we get closer to the release of Genshin Impact 2.0, stay tuned for more.

"Log in to Genshin Impact on your PlayStation, then go to Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account and link your account for PSN that is logged in to Genshin Impact to an email address that is not associated with a miHoYo Account. After linking, your game progress will be shared when you log into your account to play on the same server on iOS/Android/PC/PlayStation."

Cross save will be especially beneficial for streamers, since we will be able to play Genshin on console while streaming on our PC. During the webcast on July 9, we'll learn all about cross save. On July 21, Genshin Impact will receive its 2.0 upgrade, which will include the Inazuma area.
