But based on the recent teasers that were released, it's highly likely that Version 3.0 will be released since the new information revealed were about the anticipated Sumeru region and the Dendro Element!

Revealed during the 2.8 livestream, a new location was showcased, which is the new Sumeru Statue of the Seven. It was also revealed that Sumeru will be released, as expected, in Version 3.0, which also means that the new element Dendro will come out as well.

The white whale of Genshin Impact, Dendro is the seventh element of the game and the rarest on Tevyat. While they are already enemies that can go against the element, there’s still no Dendro character that has been released in the game. However, with the recent teasers that were posted, Dendro characters seem to be arriving in the game soon.

The following are the confirmed or rumored Dendro characters:

Baizhu is a potential Dendro character as this NPC has a Dendro vision on his hip as well as deep knowledge of herbal medicine, which could make him a great healer or support. However, Baizhu becoming a playable character may still be far in the future.

Yaoyao is another potential Dendro character. She is close to Qiqi and a close acquaintance of Xiangling and Ganyu. Yaoyao has been spotted several times in the game for quite some time now.

Sumeru is one of the most anticipated regions in Genshin Impact. To let players have a sneak peek in this nation of flora and foliage, the developers uploaded a video about what to expect in this region. Two new reactions related to Dendro (Bloom and Catalyze) as well as the third reaction, Burning, are part of what’s to come once version 3.0 launches.

Burning

Burning reactions can be triggered when Dendro and Pyro come into contact with each other. The burning reaction already existed in-game from the beginning, but the interaction through the elemental reaction was limited. The only time this reaction was visible was when fighting and hitting Dendro Slimes with Pyro-infused attacks or when standing on burning grass.

Bloom

Previously leaked as Overgrown, the reaction can be triggered when Hydro interacts with the Dendro element. When the Bloom reaction is triggered, a flower bud-shaped object pops out from the enemies. Applying different elements to the flower buds will trigger different results ranging from AoE (area of effect) explosions to the enemy being zapped.

Catalyze

Catalyze is an entirely original reaction that can be triggered when Dendro and Electro interact with each other. Previously known as Intensified, the developers revealed that Catalyze has a "deep connection" with the local history of Sumeru in Genshin Impact. When triggered, It generates an extra energy particle every time.

As there is a new region, expect new enemies as well. The new enemies in the Sumeru region include the new Electro Regisvine, which is the third variant of its type along with the Pyro Regisvine, and the Cryo Regisvine. An unnamed Floating Dendro Mushroom that reacts to Pyro and Electro abilities, will appear as well. It will change its state and attack methods depending on the ability used to attack it. There’s also treasure hoarders in the upcoming regions. They appear as dark-skinned and wields a variety of weapons.
