Consoles and PC will be the first platforms to receive the game. Sony's PlayStation 5, Microsoft's Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo's Switch are among the systems that are supported. The Rockstar Launcher will be used to access the game on PC. Other than "later this year," no specific date was specified.

The trilogy will also be available on iOS and Android, which is a unique feature. Rockstar didn't go into too much detail about it, other than to state that it will be released in the first half of 2022.

The Definitive Edition of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy will be a complete remastering of all three games, including "graphic upgrades and current gameplay additions for all three titles, while retaining the classic look and feel of the originals." The Definitive Edition will take the place of the original games, which will be removed by Rockstar next week.

The old Grand Theft Auto games are being removed from the PlayStation Store this week, and it appears like Rockstar is asking you to wait for the recently announced wave of remasters. GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, according to UK store Base, may cost £64.85 on the PlayStation 5 and £54.85 on the PlayStation 4.

Rockstar has stated that additional information on these remasters will be released shortly, and with a release date of 2021, we won't have to wait long. Physical copies for the PS4 are expected to be released on December 7th, according to VGC, however it appears that PS5 users will have to wait until next year for a boxed edition.

At this point in time, Rockstar still has said very little about Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, but we have been promised that more information will be coming about in the next few weeks. When that does happen, there's a good chance that we'll learn more about the game's release date, price, and will likely even see our first look at gameplay footage as well.
