Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason Event Announced to be Featured in the Esports World Cup

The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason has been announced to be hosted in collaboration with the Esports World Cup to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this upcoming August 2024, with a prize pool valued at a whopping $3 million USD.

The HoK Invitational Midseason event will feature 12 participating teams from across the world, with China’s KPL Dream Team as the first team that has been revealed for the tournament, with more teams to be unveiled soon to battle it out for the Honor of Kings Invitational Championship slot.

On March 2, 12 teams are set to compete in the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 1 for the $300k prize pool and a chance to advance to the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2. The top teams from season 2 will then move to the HoK Invitational Midseason in the Esports World Cup.

The winning teams of the Invitational Midseason will secure a spot for the Invitational Championship, where the first Honor of Kings Invitational year-end world champion will be determined and take home the highest share of the prize pool.

According to the Senior Director of Level Infinite Global Esports Center, Tencent Games James Yang,” The Esports World Cup is an exciting and unique opportunity to bring international esports recognition to the world’s most played mobile MOBA title.”

“Honor of Kings is the latest example of our commitment to the mobile esports space, as we continue to prioritize our investment in the esports landscape. We can’t wait to kick off the launch of the Global Invitational Series with the Honor of Kings Invitational Season One on March 2 in Istanbul,"
he added.

It was revealed following the company’s $15 million pledge to support the development and growth of the Honor of Kings esports ecosystem, as the series is scheduled to roll out in March 2024.

On February 21, 2024, Honor of Kings will debut in additional regions, including the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Eastern Europe, and South Asia, accumulating over a million pre-registrations.
