Unity League
The People’s Television Network (PTV), a government-owned broadcaster in the Philippines, is launching the Unity League, a grassroots esports league. The league aims to develop players who can compete as esports athletes for Team Sibol, the Philippines’ national esports team. The inaugural season of the Unity League will feature a nationwide Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament, open to all government units. In future seasons, the league plans to organize additional esports categories such as League of Legends, Dota 2, VALORANT, and Tekken.

The technical and operational aspects of the tournament will be managed by the Philippines Esports Organisation (PESO). The Speaker for the Philippines House of Representatives, Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, has committed to increasing the prize pool offered by PTV. The championship winner will receive two million pesos, the second-place finisher will get one million pesos, and the third-place team will be awarded half a million pesos.

The first season of the Unity League will host regional qualifiers, open to any Filipino aged 18 or above. Registration for these qualifiers will take place in February and March, depending on the region.

Xbox Consoles
If you're an Xbox fan, you might have been worried by some recent rumors that Microsoft is planning to stop making consoles and lose some of its biggest games to PS5. Well, don't panic, because those rumors are false. According to a new report, Xbox head Phil Spencer assured his team that Microsoft is committed to the console market and is working on the most advanced hardware ever. In fact, during today's roadmap presentation, he said that they are focused on delivering the largest technical leap in terms of hardware generation.

But what about the games? Well, there's some surprising news there too. Microsoft has confirmed that it will release some of its Xbox-exclusive titles on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The company hasn't revealed which games, but sources say that two of them are community-driven games and the other two are smaller titles. The first two are expected to be Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment, followed by Sea of Thieves and Grounded.

What do you think of this move by Microsoft? Do you prefer console or platform exclusive games?

FF7 Rebirth Orthopedic Item
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is getting ready for its worldwide release, and fans can try out the last demo before the launch. Have you played it yet?

One thing that some fans might miss in the remake is the notorious "orthopedic" item. This is a piece of clothing that is supposed to correct a deformity in the muscles or bones.

In the original game, this item was found in Tifa's bedroom when Cloud visited his hometown Nibelheim. It was not something that Cloud could wear or use.

Some people might think that removing Tifa's underwear from the game is not a big deal, but others might disagree. They might want the remake to keep all the original elements and themes of the game.

Stellar Blade Rating
In our previous discussion, we covered the controversies around Stellar, a game that some Western players criticized for having an unrealistic and childlike character model. Today, we have a new update: Stellar Blade, a PS5 exclusive action game set in the same universe, has been rated 18+ in South Korea. This means that it is only for adults and not suitable for minors.

The GRAC, the Korean rating board, gave this rating based on two factors: nudity and excessive violence. The game reportedly features characters who are mutilated or dismembered, as well as a lot of blood on the screen. There are also rumors of nudity in the game, but we have not seen any evidence of that yet.

Diablo 4 Microtransactions
Diablo 4 is a highly anticipated game, but some fans are unhappy with the micro transactions. One of the most controversial items is the Vitreous Scourge mount bundle, which costs more than the game itself. You need to buy 7,000 Platinum for $64.99 USD to get the mount and its armor, while the game is on sale for $41.99 USD on Steam. That's a huge difference!

Another item that some players find overpriced is the portal with different colors. You can choose from red, blue, green, yellow, and purple, but each one costs $29 USD. That's a lot of money for a cosmetic feature.

What do you think of these micro transactions? Are they fair or not? Do you still want to play Diablo 4 when it comes to Xbox Game Pass on March 28?

Sora AI
Sora is a text-to-video model that can create realistic and coherent videos from user prompts. It can handle multiple characters, motions, and details in the videos. It also has a physical understanding of the world and the objects in it.
