How does the Reporting Tool work?

The Report Feature Tool is now implemented, a lot of our fellow Summoners are concerned about what will happen under this new banning process. First and foremost this feature will target the most toxic players and we want these players to reform their behavior and become good members of the community.

We gathered the most frequent questions from all of you regarding how this feature works.
  • How long is the offense per report?
By using this new banning process we don't only look at a single game anymore. We are targeting the most toxic players who have repeatedly shown extremely negative behaviors such as verbally abusing other players or using racist language. We collect all player reports and determine punishments for those with the worst track record of toxicity. The ban duration is dependent on how toxic a player is in relation to the entire PH community.. If you're punished by the system but start demonstrating good behavior, the system will recognize this improvement and you won't be repeatedly punished.
  • How are players investigated? What is the process?
We will only ban the most toxic players in the community that do not improve their behavior. We are looking into how often a player is being reported, and how severely a player has negatively influenced the experience of others. We also take into account the credibility of the people who file reports. If you are a positive player in League of Legends and only report when necessary, your reports will actually be worth a lot more than someone who abuses the reporting system and falsely reports other players.
  • How will you review troll reports?
Players will only be punished for consistently creating negative experiences over multiple games. If you are reported in one game, this single case will not result in a ban. We also take into account the credibility of reporters. The reports filed by a positive player hold more weight than the reports filed by a player who's been abusing the reporting system. Generally, players who follows the Summoner's Code and respect their fellow gamers should not be concerned.
  • How frequently will players be banned?
We will be banning toxic players whose behavior hasn't improved on a monthly basis.
  • Will there be a ban list?
There won't be a ban list. Players who are banned will receive email notifications to those players who have verified email. To start, we will give single game chat restrictions to players we've identified as the most toxic in the PH community. This is a light warning for these players and harsher punishments will take place in the future.

This Report Feature serves to regulate the conduct and behavior of Summoners in the community. We hope that you will use the Report function wisely and enable LoLPH to have a more positive community.

Mute and Ignore Features
  • If a Summoner has caused you a negative play experience, we currently have a reporting system in place, as well as the /mute and /ignore features.
  • Typing /mute "Summoner name" or /ignore "Summoner name" will stop the messages from appearing (you do not type the " marks).
  • If muting or ignoring a player doesn't stop the negative experience, please use the reporting system.
  • Please know that even though we have an ignore and mute function, that does not mean it is still acceptable to use foul or offensive language.
Reporting a Player

Clicking the exclamation in the post-game chat, or right clicking the offensive Summoner will give you the option to report them. This makes it easier for the game developers to track these reports. Reports are used in our New Banning System where the most toxic players who have repeatedly given a negative environment to their team mates will be reported, assessed then banned.

1. At the end of each game, you can click on the red exclamation mark to report a player.
2. A new window will appear. Click the drop down icon to choose the offense.
3. You will then be able to report the player for various negative behaviors.
4. After choosing an offense you may add more information at the comment box.
5. A notice will then appear that you have successfully sent a report:

* We do NOT have the Tribunal System. For the meantime, reports are sent to the game developers to process the data to be forwarded to our Report Banning System for further review and investigation.

What are the different reporting options?
  • Harassment: Offensive Language - Including, but not limited to language that is vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Harassment: Verbal Abuse - Including, but not limited to, language that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Griefing: Intentional Feeding - Purposely dying to enemy champions or turrets to make the opposing team more powerful while putting your team at a disadvantage.
  • Griefing: Assisting Enemy Team - This includes using all-chat or Summoner abilities to assist the opposing team in any way.
  • Unskilled Player - If you feel that a Summoner is not playing well - such as not last hitting, not using the right skills, having the wrong build, and having poor map awareness, you can report that player for being unskilled.
  • Refusing to Communicate with Team - Applies to any Summoner that refuses to use chat or pings.
  • Leaving the Game/AFK - This includes logging out or exiting the Game before a match ends as well as standing idle for long periods of time or refusing to participate in the match at all. Such players will be taken cared of by the Leaver Buster System.
  • Negative Attitude - Any Summoner that is constantly putting other Summoners down or being generally negative about the game.
  • Inappropriate Name - Select this option is you see a Summoner name that is falsely indicative of an association with Riot Games, contains personally identifying information, infringes on the proprietary rights of third parties, or that is offensive, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable. This also applies if the name uses a misspelling or an alternative spelling to circumvent this restriction on Summoner name choices.
  • Spamming - Whether for personal or commercial purposes, by disrupting the flow of conversation with repeated postings of a similar nature is a reportable offense.
Always use the Reporting Tool whenever you encounter a toxic player.
