Idola Phantasy Star Saga is a mobile RPG that is connected to the Phantasy Star Online series. The game's story revolve around Vandor, a land of swords and magic in a midst of war, they are fighting a threat called Idola but a malevolent entity called "Dark Falz" has started awakening again. Thus begins the story of the characters that wish to stop Dark Falz from resurrecting and know the mystery behind Idola. Before we talk about its ongoing CBT, let's do a quick recap of what does it have to offer.
Idola has a refined art style that is very loyal to its anime art style which should be as the PSO has been known to have a great hold on their graphics and animation. The background is also very detailed too, making sure that the characters does not look like cut-outs in the game.
The game also has a pretty unique battle mechanic, featuring various mechanics such as Law vs Order mechanic which involved various characters being in one alignment and cannot be paired with someone who has a different alignment than them.
However, there are also neutral characters that can work in both parties. Specialized teams can be made with these strategies as you can also change their alignment if you have max bonded them. The main battle system follows the classic command style that we all are familiar in the JRPG setting, meaning you won't get lost much once you have played these types of games.
With all that said, the CBT or the closed beta test for a release outside Japan has begun today, it will last until August 10 across Southeast Asian nations, meaning, yes, our country is also included here. I've also found the link. So if you are interested, go and try it.
