Justin Lin is set to direct the One Punch Man Live Action Movie

After the "Fast X" franchise, Justin Lin is starting a new journey by picking up One-Punch Man for a live adaptation of the series. The live-action film adaptation of the international hit manga series will be written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, who previously collaborated on Jumanji: The Next Level and Venom. Shueisha Films sold the film rights to Sony Pictures.

Arad Productions, the studio behind Spider-Man film series, Iron Man, X-Men film series, and Venom is producing the film with Avi Arad and Ari Arad. Lin will also serve as a producer, working with the scribes on a rewrite with the goal of starting production by the end of the year.

One Punch Man began as an online comic by One, but it quickly expanded in popularity, leading to the creation of an official manga by Yusuke Murata. The manga was soon turned into an anime by Madhouse, which went on to become a critical and economic success.

While many believe the first season to be one of the best anime seasons of all time, the show's second season, directed by J.C. Chan, came several years later. Staff, rather than Madhouse, received only mediocre reviews. We are crossing our fingers that this live adaptation will not be the worst of the franchise.

The film is still in early development. Stay tuned for the latest news!
