Krafton developing PUBG 2 through Unreal Engine 5 and it might be released soon

On Twitter, a well-known PUBG leaker known as Player IGN just revealed a few fresh facts regarding the creation of what may be a whole new PUBG game, probably PUBG 2. The game is reportedly being developed on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5.

A job post for a Technical Art Director vacancy at PUBG Corporation Amsterdam was leaked by @PlayerIGN. On an undisclosed AAA project on Unreal Engine 5, the ideal applicant would collaborate closely with the Art Director, Game Director, and Producer.

It's no news that a follow-up to the highly acclaimed battle royale PUBG is already in development. The game, dubbed PUBG 2, has been rumored for quite some time and is scheduled to release next year if all goes according to plan. It should be noted, however, that Krafton has yet to formally announce such a title.

According to player IGN, the team explored switching from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 a few months ago, according to internal sources.

Now, we don't know for sure whether this Unreal Engine 5 game is PUBG 2, and until Krafton confirms it, everything is just conjecture and rumor, so take everything with a grain of salt.

Switching to Unreal Engine 5 would let the development team to use some amazing next-gen technologies like Nanite, the engine's new geometry system, and Lumen, the engine's new lighting component, to make PUBG 2 appear aesthetically stunning.
