Hello, survivors! Welcome to our LifeAfter Newbie Guide summary. The Newbie Guide is a series of quests created especially for new survivors to help them learn some basic mechanics of the game as well as get used to the in-game controls and environment. You can access those quests by clicking on the “newbie” button in the top right corner of the screen after completing the main tutorial . Completing the newbie guide quests will not only reward you with many valuable items, but you will also acquire in-game knowledge and experience. You will become a true survivor in no time!


Section 1



Summary
In this section, you’ll explore the Fall Forest! You’ll learn how to gather essential resources, craft items like the Mondragon Rifle and ammo box You will also learn how to cook food and fight the infected! Furthermore, you will receive a variety of rewards including resources, New Dollars, skill points, formula shards, and more!

  • Section 1.1 of the newbie guide will be focused on the exploration of the Fall Forest! This will teach you how to reach Fall Forest and gather essential resources such as wood, stone, hemp, and berries.


As a reward you'll receive 5 Hides, 70 Hemp, 10 Plant roots and 6 Twigs for you to craft a Small Cabinet and a Casual Jacket in the next chapter! Next, you will learn the basics of crafting.


  • In Section 1.2 of the newbie guide, you’ll go back to the Hope101 development zone. You will be taught how to cook food, craft basic processed goods, furniture and clothing. As a reward, you will receive 500 New Dollars, 300 Skill points and 5 Formula shards for you to level your character with and unlock more items. Next, you will learn how to craft a basic bow, and gather basic primary and secondary resources from the Fall Forest.

  • In Section 1.3 of the newbie guide, you’ll be introduced to gathering primary and secondary resources. You will be told to gather, Twigs, Iron Ore, Flint and Bone from Fall Forest and deliver it back.


As a reward, you’ll unlock 8 Wooden Boards, 20 Twigs, 10 Iron and 2000 wood for you to craft the Mondragon Rifle and Ammo box. Next, you will learn how to craft processed materials and equipment.


  • In Section 1.4 of the newbie guide, you will learn to craft the Mondragon Rifle and Ammo for it. As a reward, you will receive 3 Bandages, 2 Clean cans and 500 New Money for general use. Next you will learn how to accept missions from the mission board at Fall Forest and explore the Fall Forest further.

  • In Section 1.5 of the newbie guide, you will take on daily missions, kill zombies and gather resources from chests. Your reward will be basic farming resources such as 2 berry seeds, 2 wheat seeds, common fertilizer and 200 gold for Farming. Next, you will learn how to upgrade your manor and utilize the farm.


As a reward, you'll receive 5 Hides, 70 Hemp, 10 Plant roots and 6 Twigs for you to craft a Small Cabinet and a Casual Jacket in the next chapter!



Summary
  • In section 2 of the Newbie Guide, you’ll learn some more advanced things! You’ll explore a new area: Farstar City, and learn how to upgrade your manor, begin farming, use the formula machine, repair items, and gather items that are only available in a specific weather conditions. Rewards include New Dollars, Skill Points, Formula Shards, a backpack expansion upgrade, and even a piglet to help your farm along with other resources.

  • In Section 2.1 of the newbie guide, you will be required to raise your gathering, crafting and combat skills to level 5. Then, you will not only be taught how to upgrade your Manor level and make a permanent ammo chest, but also how to begin farming. You will be rewarded, 500 New Money, 300 Skill points and 20 Formula shards for you to upgrade your character with. Next, you will be taught how to upgrade the defenses of your Manor.

  • In Section 2.2 of the newbie guide, you will learn to use the formula machine as well as how to acquire resources to upgrade the walls of your Manor. As a reward, you will be provided with 10 iron ore, 10 twigs, and 10 plant roots for general use. Next, you will explore the Farstar City, that you just unlocked!

  • In Section 2.3 of the newbie guide, you will explore the Farstar City! You will be asked to obtain various resources located at specific areas throughout the map. What is more, you will be instructed to kill some infected. As a reward, you’ll receive a level 1 expand backpack upgrade, 500 new dollars and 500 skill points for you to expand your backpack! This is essential for unlocking future backpack slots.

  • In section 2.4, you will learn how to make a repair bench, set your dog’s habits and discover new cooking recipes! As a reward, you will receive 1 crude ammo box, 5 bandages, 2 clean cans, and 500 New Money for combat in the next section. You will also be introduced to weather-specific resources in the next section.

  • As we mentioned before, in section 2.5, you will discover weather-specific resources in the Fall Forest! You will be asked to gather mushrooms and hardwood vines from the Fall Forest as well as chests from the Farstar City, while also helping to clear the Fall Forest and the Farstar City of infected! As a reward, you will be given a piglet for raising on your farm, 200 gold, 5 Formula shards and 500 Skill points for upgrading your character.


Section 3



Summary
  • In this section, you will explore another new map; Sandcastle! You’ll learn how to further upgrade your farm, choose a profession, craft more advanced items and improve your manor defenses. You’ll earn New Dollars, skill points, formula shards, a weapon and a piece of armor as well as other resources. You’ll also unlock Miska University.

  • In Section 3.1 of the newbie guide, you will have to raise your gathering, crafting, and combat skills to level 10. You will then upgrade your manor level to 3, produce a livestock pen to raise the piglet, and choose a profession.

  • As a reward, you will be given 600 New Money, an Oak seed and a castor seed which are rare farming resources. In the next section, you will explore the new map named Sandcastle that you just unlocked!

  • In Section 3.2 of the newbie guide, you will explore Sandcastle! You will be tasked to make an Iron Axe and Pickaxe.These items are essential to help gathering items at Sandcastle. You will then gather the intermediate primary resources such as Tin ore, Resin and Hemp stem, kill animals and open the chests. As a reward, you will receive 10 Wood Cores, 5 Sulphur, 5 Hemp basts and 1 Alloy drill bit which are essential to producing plastic and iron castings. In the next section, you will produce intermediate processed materials and upgrade your equipment.

  • In Section 3.3 of the newbie guide, you will produce level 2 enhancements to help upgrade your manor defences, wine cabinets for additional storage, plastic and iron castings for producing equipment and a choice of either an Uzi or compound bow and an expedition expert or police jacket as upgrades to your existing equipment. As a reward, you will receive 600 New Money, 400 Skill points and 5 formula shards to upgrade your character with. In the next section, you will use the equipment you’ve just produced to take on harder challenges.

  • In Section 3.4 of the newbie guide, you will use your upgraded equipment to take on Mercenaries and Zombies found in Sandcastle, a group activity named Miska University which you’ve just unlocked and defeat the mystic creature found in Fall Forest. As a reward, you will receive 800 new money, 600 skill points and 5 formula shards to upgrade your character with. In the next section, you will upgrade your manor and take on even harder challenges.

  • In Section 3.5 of the newbie guide, you will have to raise your gathering, crafting and combat skills to level 15. You will then upgrade your manor level to 4, and be introduced to Stronghold quests at Fall Forest, as well as to special mutated monsters. You’ll also be introduced to even higher difficulty of Miska University.

  • As a reward, you will receive 300 gold, 1000 skill points and 10 formula shards to upgrade your character with. In the next section, you will continue to upgrade your manor and unlock new furniture.


Section 4



Summary
In this section, you’ll be able to explore the Snow Highlands! You’ll learn how to create even more advanced items and how to acquire more difficult to obtain resources such as aluminium ore. You’ll also be improving your manor defenses even further, creating high tier weapons, upgrading your profession, taking on imperial soldiers and mystic creatures, and more! Rewards include high tier resources for crafting, gold, skill points, formula shards and the unlocking of the Mouth Swamp map!

  • In Section 4.1 of the newbie guide, you will have to raise your gathering, crafting and combat skills to level 20. You will then upgrade your manor level to 5 and produce a solid closet. As a reward, you will receive 2 Gingko seedlings which is necessary to produce higher tier equipment, 5 bandages, and 1500 skill points. In the next section, you will explore the new map named Snow Highlands!

  • In Section 4.2 of the newbie guide, you will explore Snow Highlands! You will be tasked to produce a Fire Axe and an Assembled Pickaxe to gather higher tier resources. Next, you will gather High tier Primary resources such as Aluminium ore, Flax leaves and Old Cypress logs which are essential to making better gear and furniture. Then you will kill some of the animals, and infected found within. As a reward, you will receive Secondary resources such as Cypress Leaves, Flax Petals and Kyanite which are also essential to making higher tiered equipment and furniture. In the next section, you will be taught to upgrade your equipment and profession.

  • In Section 4. 3 of the newbie guide you will produce level 3 Enhancements to further increase your Manor defences, produce a common ammo box, high tier weapons such as UMP/590M/Thompson, and armour such as Bullet-proof Armor/Battle Vanguard Armor. You will then upgrade your profession certification to the second level. As a reward you will receive 500 gold, 2000 skill points and 10 formula shards to upgrade your character with. In the next section, you will take on even stronger enemies, strongholds and Mystic creatures.

  • In Section 4.4 of the newbie guide, you will open chests, and kill Imperial Soldiers, as well as Infected located at Snow Highlands. You will also be tasked to take on the Stronghold and Mystical Creature found in Sandcastle. As a reward you will receive 2 alloy drill bits for obtaining potassium nitrate, 1000 New Money, 2500 Skill points and 10 Formula shards to upgrade your character with. In the next section, you will level your manor and explore a new map named Mouth Swamp!

  • In Section 4.5 of the newbie guide, you will have to raise your gathering, crafting and combat skills to level 25. You will then upgrade your manor level to 6 and explore Mouth Swamp! You will be tasked to do the daily resource point quest and kill crocodiles. As a reward, you will receive 600 gold, 3000 skill points and 15 formula shards to upgrade your character with. In the next section, you will continue to explore Mouth Swamp.

  • In Section 4.6 of the newbie guide, you will be tasked to find chests, and to kill various enemies such as Infected, Believers and Life Suckers in Mouth Swamp. You will also be tasked to complete the stronghold battle found in Snow Highlands. As a reward, you will receive 10 Cracked Tough hides, Malachite, 10 Rugged Leather, 10 Kenaf Leaves and 10 Malachite which are essential to making Medikits, Antiseptic and Drone components. In the next section, you will explore the new map named Mount Snow!

Section 5



Summary
In the final section of the newbie guide, you’ll further upgrade your manor and its defenses, hunt various creatures (including Mystic Creatures), craft advanced weapons, upgrade your professional certification, and loot chests. Rewards include important resource gathering items and components, skill points, New Dollars, formula shards, gold, and more!

  • In Section 5.1 of the newbie guide, you will have to raise your gathering, crafting, and combat skills to level 30. You will then upgrade your manor level to 7, produce Steel Axe and Pickaxe which are required to gather high-end resources and explore Mount Snow! You will then have to complete a resource point quest. As a reward, you will receive 2 Diamond Drill bits which can be used to gather Galena and are essential to making Steel rods, 1 Sheep which will provide Tenderloin and Beast fur, 10 Bandages and 4000 Skill points. In the next section, you will further explore Mount Snow!

  • In Section 5.2, you will be tasked to hunt animals, Infected and Imperial Soldiers at Mount Snow. Additionally, you will also have to open Chests and gather High-end primary resources such as Jute leaves, Copper ore and Boxwood. As a reward, you will receive 20 Beast Tooth, 10 Beast fur and 10 Galena which are essential in producing high-end processed goods. In the next section, you will upgrade your furniture, equipment and profession certification level.

  • In Section 5.3 of the newbie guide, you will produce level 4 enhancements to even further increase your manor defences, produce steel, wardrobe, and weapons such as MP5/AK47. You will also be tasked to upgrade your profession certification to level 3. As a reward you will receive 2000 New Money, 4000 Skill points, and 20 Formula shards to upgrade your character with. In the next section, you will continue to explore Mount Snow and face further challenges.

  • In Section 5.4 of the newbie guide, with your upgraded equipment you will have to defeat infected around the Snow Pass, defeat Imperial soldiers and loot their chests at the Imperial Stronghold found at Mount Snow. You will also be tasked to take on the Mouth Swamp Stronghold battle and Snow Highlands Mystic creature. As a reward, you will receive 1000 gold, 6000 Skill Points and 20 Formula Shards to upgrade your character with. This is the final section of the Newbie guide for the current update the game is at.
