Magic: Legends Is Now Live As It Launches Open Beta For PC

Cryptic Studios revealed in a blog post that the open beta for Magic: Legends PC version is now out and live. Players can now check out the action RPG on PC and join thousands of other players worldwide.

Magic: Legends is a free-to-play action roleplaying game set in the universe of the smash hit collectible card game, Magic: the Gathering. It is a multiplayer game where you take on the character of a powerful, spell-wielding Planeswalker to traverse the planes of the Magic Multiverse and fight the ancient forces of darkness by collecting and upgrading spells. The dev team designed the game to provide a unique RPG experience, which combines the power fantasy of becoming a Planeswalker with fast-paced combat tied to strategic deckbuilding.

The studio first announced Magic: Legends in December of 2019 at The Game Awards. With thousands of players checking out the game in its closed alpha in 2020, their development team continued to work in order to bring the game to life even amidst the current pandemic. Now, Executive Producer Stephen Ricossa confirmed the start of Magic: Legends open beta through a blog post on March 23, 2021. Although the test period for open beta is only for the PC version, the game will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation®4 when it releases.

What's more is that the open beta launch will come with rewards, whether fans play the game on Arc Games or the Epic Games Store. A free Gavony Vigilante Costume for their character, the 'Bruiser’ skin for the Ogre Mortar creature summon, two drop boosts and two mission boosts will be received by players who download Magic: Legends on Arc Games. While players who download the game on Epic Games Store will receive a free Moorland Ranger Costume, Moorland Ranger Werewolf Summon Skin and two drop boosts. These goodies will only be available for claim until April 6, 2021, at 9:00 am PDT. Players should also take note that you will not be able to gain both the exclusive Magic: Legends rewards for Arc Games and the Epic Games Store since there is no cross-save available.

Publisher Perfect World Games has not announced an official release date yet, but it is scheduled to set out sometime this year.
