Malaysian team HomeBois and two Philippine teams lead their groups after MPL Invitational Day 1

The MPL Invitational 2023 tournament began on November 15, 2023 with the Group Stage. There are sixteen teams who were invited in this Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament. The teams were drawn and split into four groups that dictated the match-ups for the Group Stage. The first day of the Group Stage featured twelve best-of-1 match-ups. Here are the results of all the games that happened on the first day of this tournament.

Group A

• Nova Esports vs. Dewa United Esports (0-1)
• AP Bren vs. Dewa United Esports (1-0)

Group B

• Blacklist International vs. Team Falcons (1-0)
• Geek Fam vs. HomeBois (0-1)
• Blacklist International vs. HomeBois (0-1)

Group C

• ECHO vs. Bigetron Alpha (0-1)
• EVOS Legends vs Rebellion Zion (0-1)
• ECHO vs. Rebellion Zion (1-0)

Group D

• See You Soon vs. Team Flash (1-0)
• RRQ vs. RSG PH (0-1)
• See You Soon vs. RSG PH (0-1)

The MPL Philippines champion, AP Bren, led Group A with 2 wins. The MPL Malaysia champion, HomeBois, got 2 convincing wins in their group. Meanwhile in Group C, the only undefeated team is Bigetron Alpha but they only played 1 game on the first day. In Group D, RSG PH leads the group with 2 wins.

The Group Stage is only a 2-day stage so all the remaining games will be concluded on the Day 2 of MPLI. The playoffs also will start on Day 3, a day after the Group stage finished. The top teams in each group will be in the upper bracket while the second-ranked team in each group will be in the lower bracket. The bottom two teams in each group will be eliminated.
