MapleStory collaborates with World Biggest Girl Group BLACKPINK along with new cosmetics

MMORPG MapleStory and BLACKPINK are working together, and the result will be new in-game cosmetics and a video series that will follow the group as they suggest new outfits for the game.

The collaboration will debut on Thursday, December 8; it will include two videos of BLACKPINK members talking about the game. The group will respond to the November 2022 MapleStory Outfit Tournament in the first episode, and in the second, members will create new items for the MapleStory collaboration.

YG Entertainment created the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK, which consists of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. In the first 24 hours after releasing the music video for their song "How You Like That," they smashed five Guinness World Records, winning them a lot of music accolades in the process.

The Olympic archer Kim Jae Duk has been replaced as the newest MapleStory ambassador by Jisoo from BLACKPINK.

There aren't much specifics about the crossover on the official website. There was a timetable for upcoming videos, though. The Blackpink MapleStory event's first episode will be made available on December 8 and the second episode will air on December 13.

A teaser video for the first episode has been released, and shows BLACKPINK discussing the in-game items they already own and MapleStory‘s fashion, along with pitching items to be added for their collaboration.

You can watch the teaser below:

Earlier versions of Taiko no Tatsujin and Just Dance had Blackpink's songs as the soundtrack.

The band gave an in-game concert in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds earlier in 2022. In the battle royale title in 2021, the girl group's cosmetics also made an appearance. In fact, the same year saw a previous collaboration between MapleStory and BTS, a different Korean band.
