Mobile Legends Advanced Server Patch Notes 1.8.82 Significant Hero Adjustments Highlights

Guild of Guardians
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) game lets its metagame stabilize for around two weeks before releasing another batch of hero adjustments. In the latest patch notes 1.8.82 advanced server, there are four heroes that received significant adjustments: Aulus, Xavier, Leomord, and Badang. All these aforementioned heroes have currently low pick rate not only in-game but also in the professional Esports scene and thus, the game is testing some adjustments and here are the details about the changes for these four heroes.

1. Aulus Experimental Adjustments

The game developers/designers increased Aulus' sustained damage and survivability, while reducing his burst from Crit equipment. They hope that Aulus will be able to maintain his excellent sustained damage while taking more damage in team fights to better fit his feature.

[Passive] (~)
Stack Effect: 3-12 Physical Attack >> 12%-18% Attack Speed
Full Stack Effect: 27-125 Basic Attack Damage >> 42-210 Physical Damage with Basic Attack

[Skill 1] (~)
Cooldown: 16-14s >> 14-12s
Damage Reduction: 20% +1% for every 10 extra Physical Attack >> 50% at all levels

[Skill 2] (~)
Skill Damage: 150-550 +120% Extra Physical Attack >> 240-440 +70% of Total Physical Attack
HP Restored by Enhanced Basic Attack: 50-100 >> 50-100 +1% of Max HP

  • No limit on the number of times the Basic Attack can be enhanced. Now his Basic Attacks can be enhanced for 3s after hitting enemy heroes or Creeps.
  • Removed Attack Speed Bonus for enhanced Basic Attack.

[Ultimate] (~)
Adjusted crafting order to: Blade Craft, Handle Craft, then Hammer Craft.
Basic Attacks' Physical Damage Increased from Blade Craft: 35 >> 80 at full stack
Hammer Craft: Increases 10% Crit Chance >> Increases 20% Physical Penetration

This is quite a huge overhaul in Aulus’ skill effects. For his passive, it now boosts his attack speed. For his first skill, the cooldown is a bit lower while the damage reduction is now fixed at 50% all levels. For his second skill, the skill damage is now higher along with the HP restored by enhanced basic attack. Lastly, his ultimate skill now increases Physical Penetration instead of Crit chance.

2. Xavier buff

Xavier's power is relatively weak in the early and mid-game, and his burst damage is not high enough in the late game. Therefore, they increased Xavier's damage while allowing him to benefit more from CD Reduction. They hope that he can become a deadly damage dealer.

[Passive] (↑)
Skill Cooldown reduced for Ultimate by Stage IIl: 12s >> 32s

[Skill 1] (~)
Cooldown: 6.5s >> 6.5-6s
Mana Cost: 75-150 >> 70-120
Damage: 425-625 +150% of Total Magic Power >> 480-650 +130% of Total Magic Power

[Skill 2] (↑)
Cooldown: 14-12s >> 12-10s
Barrier Damage: 125-250 +60% of Total Magic Power >> 200-300 +60% of Total Magic Power
Mystic Field Damage: 300-600 +120% of Total Magic Power >> 200-300 +60% of Total Magic Power

[Ultimate] (↑)
Cooldown: 44-36s >> 52-48s
Damage: 650-1050 +150% of Total Magic Power >> 600-1200 +200% of Total Magic Power

Just like Aulus, the mage hero Xavier also received adjustments on each of his passive and active skills. In terms of damage, all of his active skills received a buff. The cooldown of his non-ultimate skills are also lower but his ultimate skill now has a higher base cooldown. In addition, his skill 1 also received a mana cost adjustment which means this skill now consumes lesser mana than before.

3. Leomord buff

They increased his Crit bonus to give him more Build options, and improved his late game mobility when his ultimate is unavailable. They also hope that he will have more opportunities to join the battlefield.

[Passive] (↑)
Physical Attack Gained by Every 1% Crit Chance: 1 >> 2

[Skill 2] (↑)
Cooldown: 12s at all levels >> 12-10s

Another low pick rate hero, Leomord, was buffed in this patch update. The game seems to want Leomord to build more items with Crit chance because of that passive adjustment. His skill 2 cooldown also now scales so it is shorter as this skill is levelled up. For his passive, the buff is increased physical attack gained which may allow Leomord to forgo a physical attack item from his build into a new item without his damage potential to decrease significantly.

4. Badang buff

Badang faces great pressure in the late game when his skills are on CD, as his equipment build lacks CD Reduction. Therefore, the game reduced his survival pressure and skill casting cost in the late game accordingly.

[Skill 2] (↑)
Cooldown: 9s >> 9-7s
Base Shield: 350-600 >> 350-700

[Ultimate] (↑)
Cooldown: 30s >> 30-26s

Badang is also another hero that currently has a low popularity. The patch notes explained that an issue might be because of his cooldown reduction in late game. Thus, his skill 2 and ultimate skill now have scaling cooldown so they would be less in late game. His skill 2 also now provides more shield in mid to late game.

The patch notes just looked so lengthy and huge but most of it is because of the experimental adjustments to Aulus as listed above along with some changes like classifying Alice and Esmeralda as Tank/Mage instead of mage as primary class and tank as secondary. This update happened just this May 9, 2024 which was the first test server update this May 2024. Players can expect a couple more advanced server patch notes coming up in preparation of the upcoming huge Project NEXT update in June 2024.
