Mobile Legends Karina and Aamon Nerf along with Yin's Release - January 2022 Original Server Update

A new patch came along with the release of the newest hero, Yin. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang released their monthly update for January 2022. It includes not only new information about the game's visual but also about the battlefield balancing. One of the highlights of the update is the nerf on Karina and Aamon.

Karina's nerf involved tuning down her burst potential against squishy heroes. With that as the main idea, the developers changed the damage calculation of her passive.

[Passive] (↓)

Damage: 50 + 80% Magic Power + 8% of the Target's Lost HP >> 50 + (7 + 2% Magic Power)% of the Target's Lost HP

[Skill 1] (↑)

Cooldown: 8-6s >> 7s at All Levels

Her skill 1 also received changes. It now has a faster cooldown on early game but higher in late game compared to before. This might also make Karina users prioritize skill 2 more and not focus on leveling her first skill.

Meanwhile, Aamon was tweaked a lot in test server before the final decision on his adjustments for this original server update. Here is the conclusion.

[Passive] (↓)
The extra Movement Speed now decays faster.

[Ultimate] (↓)
Shifted most of the damage to the final hit so the opposing players may dodge the damage using Blink or skills that grant Invincibility. Also slightly lowered the AOE damage.

At first, they tried nerfing his skill 2 but as it turns out, it was a bad option and thus they reverted those changes and applied these adjustments instead which is also the final product that was released in the original server.

Both of these heroes are considered as best heroes in the previous metagame and some even see them as overpowered. That is why the adjustments focused on making them balance without nerfing them too much. Among all of the nerfs that happened in the latest patch note, the nerfs on these two heroes are the most significant and considered as the highlight of the patch.

Stay tuned for more news and updates!
