Four heroes received adjustments in the latest advance server patch note. It is now Patch Note 1.7.62 in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang test server and the highlight is the experimental changes to the hero, Freya, and Layla received a nerf from its previous changes. Here are all the hero adjustments noted in the latest advance server update.
1. Freya Experimental Changes
While Freya has great sustainability, she plays more or less the same as other heroes that rely on Basic Attacks. Thus, the game designers/developers are trying out giving her the ability to chain combos together easier, and in some circumstances, indefinitely. They'll keep an eye on how this affects her power and will make further changes as needed.
[Skill 1] (↓)
Skill 1 is no longer enhanced by Sacred Orb nor does it cost any Sacred Orbs.
[Skill 2] (↑)
Skill casts to trigger Airborne: 3 >> 2
Reworked how its cooldown works: Knocking enemies Airborne no longer triggers cooldown. Cooldown instead triggers after not casting it for a while.
The skill 2 changes seems the crucial part if the experimental changes will succeed to do the aforementioned aim about the Freya adjustments. It is an overall buff but the cooldown mechanic of this skill is changed. Meanwhile, her skill 1 is nerfed since it will no longer consume Sacred Orbs, thus no enhancement from the Sacred Orb.
2. Joy Adjustments
They still believe they need to speed up Joy's damage pacing. However, they're reverting the changes to her movement speed this time around as that altered the way she played too much.
[Passive] (↑)
Now boosts movement speed again.
[Skill 2] (↓)
No longer boosts movement speed.
[Ultimate] (↓)
No longer boosts movement speed.
The re-adjustments are straight-forward this time. Expect more changes to Joy just like what the insights written in the patch note hints. The aim is to speed up her damage pacing but the movement speed mechanics changes the way she is played so another set of adjustments is more likely to be released after testing the current adjustments.
3. Revamped Minsitthar Adjustments
Skill 2 should now feel better and be easier to hit enemy heroes with. This patch note reduced slightly his potential in teamfights.
[Skill 2] (↑)
Lowered the backswing of Basic Attacks while in this state.
[Ultimate] (↓)
Duration: 8s >> 5s (While this might seem like a huge nerf, enemies usually do not stay in the target area for that long.)
Revamped Minsitthar is still being tested in the Advance Server and this time, the target of the adjustments was his skill 2. His ultimate skill duration had a nerf but the patch note mentioned the reasoning and it should not significantly affect Minsitthar unless proven otherwise.
4. Layla nerf
They admit that they vastly underestimated just how big of a boost Layla would get from increased mobility and crowd control. Thus, her damage and crowd control were slightly nerfed this time around.
[Passive] (↓)
Maximum Damage Increase: 135% >> 130%
[Skill 2] (↓)
Cooldown: 7.5-6.5s >> 8s
The nerf targeted her passive to see probably if it has a great impact to Layla's damage. Her skill 2 is also nerfed because it is her source of crowd control as mentioned in the patch note. This skill does not scale now in terms of cooldown and thus, will have a base cooldown of 8 second all throughout the game which is a bit longer than before.
These four hero adjustments were released at the same time a new hero arrived in the advance server. The new hero is named Novaria, a mage hero. These adjustments are also in preparation for the new ranked season but there is no official announcement yet on when the next patch to the original server will arrive.
