Mobile Legends Patch 1.7.84 Advance Server Highlights- Significant changes to some mage heroes and lifesteal mechanic

Just a few days after their global server update this May 2023, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang game is testing new stuffs in their advance server. Patch Note 1.7.84 Advance Server is the update that includes changes to the Lifesteal mechanic while also adjusting some mage heroes. There are four mage heroes who received significant adjustments, some of which also includes lifesteal mechanic, and here are the details.

1. Vale Experimental Changes

Vale's true power has awakened, enhancing his skills and Ultimate. The game developers/designers have noticed that most players favor one specific effect for Vale's skills, so they're removing the options and optimizing his skills and Ultimate.

[Passive] (~)
Removed Effect: When Vale reaches Lv. 4, 6 and 8, he can enhance one of his skills.

[Skill 1] (↑)
New Effect: Range Increase (Wind Blade - Scatter)
Cooldown: 8.5-6 >> 9-3s (Wind Blade - Scatter)

[Skill 2] (↑)
New Effect: Enemies that touch the windstorm will be knocked airborne for 1s.
(Windblow: Control)

New Effect: The windstorm will stay at its destination for 2s. (Windblow: Fix)

[Ultimate] (↑)
New Effect: The windstorm will continuously pull enemies to its center.
(Windstorm: Gather)

Explosion Damage: 800-1200 (+160% Total Magic Power) >> 1200-1800 (+240% Total
Magic Power) (Windstorm: Death)
Slow Effect: 40% >> 20%

Removed Effect: Reduces enemy's Magic Defense by 15

The aim this time is to make Vale's mechanic easier. This reduces his skill ceiling but also increases his skill floor. Some of the effects are now combined in one skill in which before, some need to sacrifice the other.

2. Gord buff

They're hoping to boost Gord's sustained damage capabilities and optimize the use of his skills.

[Skill 2] (↑)
Lifesteal: 50% >> 100%

They're expanding the area of effect so that it matches that of his Ultimate.

[Ultimate] (~)
Fixed an issue where the area of effect was larger than what was shown by the indicator and visual effects.

The changes written in the patch note doesn't specify which "Lifesteal" is the adjustment actually but it can be tested in the advance server and to be consistent which its previous version, this probably refers to Skill Lifesteal or which will now be collectively called Spell Vamp (includes both Physical and Magic as long as the damage is made by skills). The area of effect of his skill 2 is also increased.

3. Valir buff

They're hoping to boost Valir's sustained damage capabilities.

[Passive] (↑)
Damage per Second: 0.6% target's Max HP >> 1.2% target's Max HP

[Skill 1] (↑)
Lifesteal: 80% >> 100%

New Effect: Grants a stack of Fireball when hitting the Turtle or Lord.

Fixed an issue where the area of effect of Slow and Explosion Damage was larger than that shown by the indicator and visual effects.

[Skill 2] (↑)
Lifesteal: 40% >> 50%

Valir's skill 1 and skill 2 also received lifesteal buffs. These lifesteal mechanics seems similar with Gord's since it deals skill damage. The new effect that grants him a stack of Fireball when hitting Turtle or Lord seems huge along with the increased damage from his passive.

4. Chang'e Experimental Changes

They want to give Chang'e more opportunities to deal damage.

[Skill 1] (↑)
Projectile Speed slightly increased.

[Skill 2] (↑)
Projectile Speed of her Enhanced Basic Attack slightly increased.

New Effect: Dealing Magic Damage reduces the cooldown.

These experimental changes are an overall buff. The buff on her skill 1 is likely to push through but the new effect on her skill 2 seems huge too and thus, these was tagged as experimental changes. The slightly increased projectile speed seems fine but reducing the cooldown of her skill 2 seems to be something that might make her overpowered so the advanced server is testing this while the game is observing how it affects Chang'e.

These are the mage heroes that received significant adjustments which are all an overall buff. Some of these are experimental changes but this also indicates that the game is focusing on Mage heroes after it gave significant changes to some tanks and fighters in the previous huge update. These updates might come in the official server after MSC 2023 so expect more test server changes in the upcoming weeks.

Stay tuned for more news and updates!
