Mobile Legends Patch 1.8.72 Advanced server hero adjustments highlights - Significant buffs to six heroes

Guild of Guardians
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) game has been cooking some stuff in their test server, also known as the advanced server, as it released significant adjustments not only to heroes but also on its items. The Patch Notes 1.8.72 Advanced Server gave six heroes significant buffs that included some QoL (Quality of Life) adjustments, improved visual effects, and other mechanics. These hero adjustments are tested along with the multiple item changes in the test server and thus, these changes might be up for the huge adjustment that the game has been teasing to be released before the first half of the year 2024 ends. For now, here are the significant hero buffs along with some of the insights written in the Patch Notes 1.8.72 adv server.

1. Gloo
Gloo has been on the bench for quite some time. While he shines in the early and mid game, Gloo struggles to deal with back line enemies in the late game (generally, Gloo has to pull their carry back to his allies to have a chance). So, the game wants to increase Gloo's ability to kill enemies solo.

[Attributes] (↑)
Physical Defense Growth: 4.2 >> 7.2
Magic Defense Growth: 2.5 >> 4

[Ultimate] (↑)
Damage when Attached: 120 +30% of Total Magic Power >> 30-90 +30% of Total Magic Power +3% of Total HP

The increase in Gloo’s attributes is mainly because of the nerf on the defense items and thus, Gloo will be naturally tankier and he can benefit on this by possibly going full damage build as an EXP Laner. For his ultimate skill, the base damage is now scaling and there’s also now bonus damage based on his Total HP. These adjustments may be to balance out the attribute buff and make players decide whether to utilize the bonus damage of his ultimate skill or go full on total Magic Power.

2. Julian
The game developers/designers want to speed up Julian's jungling and combat before Lv. 3 while allowing him to be more flexible with his basic attacks between skills.

[Passive] (↑)
Casting the enhanced skill makes his Basic Attacks deal more damage for 5s >> Casting any skills enhances his Basic Attacks for 2s, the effect duration can stack.

The game wants Julian to be more flexible in terms of his skill combo. Before, players are tempted to utilize the long duration of his enhanced basic attacks. Thus, they shortened the duration but now, the effect duration can stack.

3. Saber
Currently, the distance that Skill 2 moves is a bit too far, which makes it difficult and awkward to follow up with an enhanced basic attack. So the game wants to improve that and make it more fluent.

They're going to reduce the distance travelled with Skill 2 while balancing this nerf with other changes.

[Skill 2] (~)
Dash Distance: 4 Units >> 3 Units
Enhanced Basic Attack Distance: 1.8 >> 2.5
Cooldown: 12s >> 9s
Improved the visuals of enhanced basic attacks.

[Ultimate] (↑)
Range: 4.9 >> 5.5

Saber’s enhanced basic attack from his skill 2 now has longer range along with an improved visuals. His ultimate skill also now has a longer range. The downside of these adjustments though is that because of the shorter dash distance, Saber’s skill 2 utility as an escape skill would be less effective.

4. Harith
Improved the smoothness of casting follow-on skills.

[Skill 1] (↑)
Reduced the backswing time of Skill 1 by 40%.

[Skill 2] (~)
Harith's shield is now generated before the dash, but no longer receives an increased shield value based on the number of nearby enemy heroes.

Shield: 185-310 +140% of Total Magic Power >> 300-550 +200% of Total Magic Power

The reduced backswing time on Harith’s skill 1 makes his skill combos faster and less time for enemy heroes to react and dodge. This effect could also be more magnified when used with his ultimate skill. His skill 2 has also been tweaked so players need to adapt with these changes before judging if the adjustments on this specific skill is better.

5. Khaleed and Alucard
Improved the smoothness of casting follow-on skills.

Khaleed [Passive] (↑)
Reduced the backswing of enhanced basic attacks by 50%.

Alucard [Ultimate] (↑)
Reduced the backswing time of the Ultimate's first stage by 50%.

Similar to Harith, both Khaleed and Alucard received a QoL (quality of life) adjustment. For Khaleed, the backswing of his enhanced basic attacks from his passive is reduced. On the other hand, Alucard adjustment is for his ultimate skill as the backswing time of the First stage of his ultimate skill is reduced by 50%.

These are all the significant buffs brought by the latest advanced server update patch notes 1.8.72. This hero adjustment section is the batch of changes that was written in the patch notes before the likes of the defense adjustments of certain heroes. The Equipment adjustment section also features the changes in certain defense items. These adjustments are likely to undergo further testing and may take until the next quarter before the game releases some of the adjustments here in the official server.
