The first test server patch of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) game after the August 2023 update is already released in the advance server. In preparation for the September 2023 Project NEXT update, other heroes are being optimized along with rebalancing the Revamped Lolita and new hero Nolan. There are six heroes adjusted in the Advance Server Patch Note 1.8.10 including the aforementioned heroes and here are the details.
1. Mathilda buff
The game developers/designers have brought back the previous changes of Mathilda with further adjustments.
[Skill 1] (~)
Slightly increased the wisp's duration to better match the changes to her Ultimate.
[Skill 2] (↑)
Significantly increased the available time of dash for allies after they leave Guiding Wind, giving them more time to choose where they want to dash.
[Ultimate] (~)
Reduced the flying speed during the ultimate's first stage while increasing its max flying duration, allowing Mathilda to better position herself before casting her second-stage dash.
Improved the Ultimate's flying path. Mathilda will no longer fly toward the target. And if she starts too close to the target, she will fly away from the target first so the target hero can't interrupt her flight by closing in on her.
New Effect: Transfers Soul Mark to the first target knocked by the second-stage dash.
Slightly reduced the Ultimate's range.
The ultimate skill of Mathilda received a lot of adjustments again in this test server patch note. It also received a new effect utilizing the Soul Mark. The non-ultimate skills also received adjustments as skill 2 is buffed and skill 1 received increased wisp's duration.
2. Floryn adjustments
They have brought back the previous changes of Floryn with further adjustments, focusing on giving her the ability to boost her teammates' damage.
[Passive] (↑)
Flower of Hope Damage: 50 + 60% Total Physical Attack + 60% Magic Power >> 70 + 70% Total Physical Attack + 70% Magic Power
New Flower of Hope Effect: Each Basic Attack reduces the remaining trigger cooldown.
[Skill 2] (↓)
Stun Duration: 1s >> 0.7s
Her passive received a buff as her Flower of Hope now deals more damage. Not only the base damage is increased but also the bonus damage from both Total Physical Attack stat and Magic Power. Meanwhile, her skill 2 received reduced stun duration which is a slight nerf.
3. Rafaela buff
They made her Ultimate easier to hit its targets.
[Ultimate] (↑)
Increased the indicator width and shortened the time between each Holy Light cast.
A better area-of-effect indicator for her Ultimate skill will make it easier for players to aim this skill. The shortened time between each Holy Light cast is definitely a buff as targets will have lesser time to try to dodge this. This is definitely an overall buff and players just need to get used to the new indicator width.
4. Vexana adjustments
Usability Adjustments: Simplified the logic of her skills and enhanced their effects to make her combos more consistent, and her skills more versatile when used separately.
[Skill 1] (~)
Slightly increased the width of the indicator.
Slightly increased the skill's flying speed.
Removed the delay of the explosion.
Effect Improvement: Terrified binds the enemy to a spot, rather than making them move randomly within an area.
Removed Effect: Terrifies nearby enemies for 1s.
[Skill 2] (~)
Cast Delay: 1.3s >> 0.8s
Removed Effect: Slow enemies within the target area by 30%.
Her non-ultimate skills received adjustments in terms of usability. The terrified crowd control skill is also readjusted to simplify Vexana's skill 1. For her skill 2, the cast delay is decreased which is a buff but the slow effect is removed.
5. Revamped Lolita nerf
The game nerfed Lolita's damage because she shouldn't be able to do that much damage while having strong CC and good versatility.
[Skill 1] (↓)
Base Damage: 200-475 >> 300-550
Removed the part of damage determined by the target's Max HP.
Her skill 1 damage is nerfed as she now no longer benefits from her HP stat to increase her damage. To balance her out, the base damage of this skill is increased so that it will only deal damage as intended. The insights in the patch note made it clear that her skill 1 is supposed to be more on the crowd control and versatility rather than the damage.
6. Nolan buff
Increased the damage and reduced the Energy Cost in the early and mid game.
[Passive] (↑)
Base Damage: 200 >> 280
[Skill 1&2] (~)
Cooldown: 1.5-1s >> 2-1s
Energy Cost: 35-25 >> 25 at all levels
Nolan received an increased base damage in his passive by 80 points while the cooldown of his non-ultimate skills is adjusted. At max level, the cooldown remains the same but it is now slightly longer in the early game. The energy cost of both his skill 1 and skill 2 is also adjusted, making it only costing 25 energy at all levels.
These are all the hero adjustments in the latest advance server patch note 1.8.10. There are still some time before September 2023 so some of these heroes might be readjusted again. There are still no exact date of release for the second phase of Project NEXT 2023 but it is expected to happen some time before the current ranked season ends.
