Mobile Legends Patch Notes 1.8.74 Advanced Server adjusted several marksman heroes

Based on the recent professional tournament matches of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) game, the marksman class has been quite an interesting eye-catching element not only in the gameplay battle but also in drafting. While listening to the analysis of several games, it can be noticed that in terms of draft, the viable marksman hero pool in drafting has been limited. Some teams worldwide have also started to use Fighter heroes instead or other heroes like Harith in the gold lane instead of a hero under the marksman class. Thus, in the recent update in the game’s test server, one of the main highlights is the hero adjustments section of the marksman class. Here are the adjustments to several marksman heroes in the latest update patch notes 1.8.74 Advanced server.


  1. Claude nerf
Claude has been on a hot streak. The game developers/designers want to nerf his damage to lower his compatibility.

This adjustment seems counterintuitive in the context of marksman heroes being replaced by heroes from other classes in the gold lane. But just looking among the pool of marksman heroes, Claude has really been overpowered compared to other options. Thus, the game nerfed his damage from his passive and skill 2, and adjusted Dexter’s damage bonus too respectively.


  1. Karrie nerf
Karrie has been on a hot streak. They want to nerf her mobility to make her less competitive.

Cooldown: 4.5-2.5s >> 4.5-3.5s

Similar to Claude, Karrie has been too competitive in a way that some players don’t see the need to use other marksman heroes. Thus, they decided to nerf an aspect of her gameplay which is mobility. The cooldown of her dash skill (second skill) has been increased from mid to late game.


  1. Miya buff
Without Blink skills, Miya needs a greater range.

Basic Attack Range: 4.6 >> 4.8

The game also decided to buff the other lesser seen marksman heroes. Unlike Claude and Karrie, Miya doesn’t have a blink skill and thus, they think Miya needs a greater basic attack range. This will definitely help Miya as she could now have a better positioning in teamfights wherein enemies would have a hard time reaching her.


  1. Layla buff
Without Blink skills, Layla needs smoother skills to improve her kiting.

Reduced the backswing time by 50%.
Mana Cost: 40-65 >> 25-50

[Skill 2] (↑)
Mana Cost: 65-90 >> 35-60

Another marksman hero that has no dash skill is Layla. Layla already has a great basic attack range and thus, the game adjusted other aspects of her battle stats. They reduced the backswing time of her skill 1 and reduced its mana cost. Her skill 2 also received a buff in which it also now consumes lesser mana per cast.

These are the highlights of the latest test server update patch notes 1.8.74. Other heroes received adjustments too like the mana costs due to the purple buff adjustments and defense adjustments due to the item changes made before. Currently, the April 2024 ALLSTAR event is still ongoing in the game’s original server and thus, the changes made in the test server will still undergo more experiments then apply globally after the events in the official server.
