Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines Season 8 Details

As the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League looms closer with its 8th season here in the Philippines, it will be back with a format that differs from the former seasons. There are changes that were made for this new season of MPL PH. It now features a franchise-based model and now has a new tournament format.

To further understand the franchise-based model that was adapted to all of the existing teams of MPL, it only means one thing, it will be a good system for all the teams participating in the league. Because of the franchise system, the league now has access to a stable and standardized management. It will provide the teams, players, and other people who are also involved, the tools and resources that they need to be at their best. The teams and players will also now get minimum salary and weekly subsidiaries. Add to that, there is a projected revenue of Php400M in three years that will be divided among the teams in the league.

There will be 8 franchise teams that will be competing in the 8th season of MPL. Aside from the championship title that the winning team will get, a prize pool amounting to Php7.5M will also be given. Below are the eight franchise teams participating in the tournament:
  • Omega Esports
  • Bren Esports
  • ECHO Esports
  • TNC Pro Team
  • Blacklist International
  • RSG PH
  • Nexplay EVOS
Because of the franchise model that was adapted in the league, the tournament format has also changed. The tournament will no longer have open qualifiers, instead it will automatically jump to a regular season where only the top 6 will play in the playoffs. The regular season will have 56 Best of 3 matches wherein only six teams among the eight that are participating will be qualified for the playoffs. The top 6 teams that qualified for the playoffs will compete in a Best of 5 match and the the top two teams that won in the playoffs will compete in a Best of 7 match to get the championship title and prize money.

The upcoming MPL PH Season 8 will start on August 13 and will last up to October 3. It will be broadcasted on the official Facebook page and YouTube channels of Mobile Legends Philippines.
