The time has come for the new MPL-PH season has arrived. The battle between the veterans and rookies looking forward to create history is now hyped. Here is the new tournament format for the new season.
The 10 teams will be divided into 2 groups. It is composed of the 8 directly invited teams and 2 teams from the qualifiers. The allocation of the directly invited teams is based on their playoffs ranking in Season 5. Coin toss where made for the 5th/6th placers, 7th/8th placers, and the 2 teams from qualifiers.
There will be a total of 65 matches in the 8-week long Regular Season compared to the previous 45 total matches in 6 weeks last season.
Teams in the same group will be matched with each other during Friday and Saturday while they will fight teams in the other group during Sunday.
Here are the schedule for the first half of the season (it might still change due to some circumstances)
Week 1 (August 21-23, 2020)
Week 2 (August 28-30, 2020)
Week 3 (September 4-6, 2020)
Week 4 (September 11-13, 2020)
