MSI Gaming Arena Will Be Hosting A University Championship In The Philippines For The First Time Ever

University students will have the opportunity to compete in one of the most interesting VALORANT competitions in the country, which will be conducted by MSI.

Bringing its gaming arena closer to students in the Philippines is MSI, a world leader in gaming, multimedia creation, and AIoT solutions. Philippines' esports fans, gamers, and enthusiasts will be able to witness the company's first-ever University Championship matches between collegiate teams in Riot Game's popular first-person shooter, VALORANT, which will be broadcast live. This year's competition will take place from October 30 to December 4, but teams can register beginning on October 7.

Since its inception in Thailand, the MSI Gaming Arena (MGA) University Championship has expanded to include the countries of Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and now, the Philippines. As part of its mission to highlight the rise of esports in the country and to emphasize the value of friendship among colleges, even when no face-to-face interactions are possible, the event is being held during a pandemic outbreak.

"MSI together with AcadArena, ESL Gaming, The Gaming Company, One Up esports, Riot Games, and VNG are proud to bring the heat and thrill of gaming experience among universities in the Philippines. We highly encourage the students to join the fun and the spirit of competition, hoping this could relieve a bit of their stress from the ongoing pandemic and online classes," MSI Philippines General Manager Jessica Chen said. She also added that the program will correspond as closely as feasible to the schedules of the local schools.

The tournament, which will be powered by the Philippines' very own Globe Telecom, will bring MSI's Gaming Arena University Championship to the local scene for the first time. Additionally, AcadArena, the foremost organization for Campus Gaming and Esports Education in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, has made this collaboration feasible. The smooth and thrilling experience that the audience and players will have as a result of these cooperation is guaranteed.
