NCSoft's New Global MMORPG 'Lineage W' Is Coming To PC And Mobile Platforms

On Wednesday, international video game developer and publisher NCSoft teases a new global MMORPG to launch on mobile devices, with a scheduled release on PC as well.

NCSoft has recently made two announcements. First and foremost, they announced that they intend to launch Aion 2 in 2022, and that it will be a global launch rather than a launch limited to a specific geographic region. And now they've announced Lineage W, a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Following this announcement, the company recently unveiled a new teaser website for Lineage W which is available in Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and English. Although there aren't much details available as of the moment, the website does provide some concept about the game's storyline as well as some cinematics.

As far as we know, Lineage W is a brand new game in the Lineage series which will be an MMORPG just like Lineage and Lineage II. It is a game strategically developed for global users with a “worldwide” concept, as reported by the Korean press. Also, Lineage W is not the same as Lineage M or Lineage 2M in any way. Both of these games are still in the process of being developed separately for the international market.

Regarding the launch date of the game, there hasn't been any announcement just yet. Rest assured, it will be a global launch. Also, since it will be available on both PC and mobile devices, it has been determined that there will be a cross-play available between the two platforms. More details will be fleshed out later when NCSoft holds the 'Lineage W Global Online Showcase' on the 19th of August at 10:00 A.M. KST, so better stay tuned!
