The RF Project, a mobile and PC MMORPG based on the original sci-fi PC game, hasn't made any significant announcements since January 2022. However today, Netmarble executives gave a presentation at a developer conference at the annual GDC (Game Developers Conference) to discuss their projects, particularly their blockchain platform Marblex 2.0.
After Netmarble purchased the intellectual property rights to RF Online, this title was first hinted about around 2020. Netmarble N2, which previously created A3: Still Alive, is in charge of development. The original features won't undergo much change thanks to Netmarble. In fact, they intend to include fresh features not included in the original PC MMORPG, opening up fresh experiences that were previously impractical.
Their remarks and the slide below both state that RF Project is a blockchain/Web3/Play-To-Earn game.
The majority of the presentation focused on how Web3 games make money, players' ownership of digital goods like game tokens and other items, the usual discussion of digital ownership, and how Marblex will stand out and alter the Web3 gaming environment.
Although RF Project has not yet been given a release date, it is currently being developed as a cross-platform game for PC and mobile that will "enable gamers to freely change their country or class" in order to enhance the game's "story". Stay tuned for more updates!
