New Action Adventure Game 'Project Buramato' Is Set To Be Released In 2022

Ozysoft, the developers of the psychological horror game 'Pulang Insanity', has announced 'Project Buramato' as its next major video game title.


With a complete Director's Cut edition, Pulang Insanity, one of the most critically acclaimed Indonesian games currently available on Steam, is one of the most widely played games in Indonesia. As of last Monday, Indonesian developer Ozysoft revealed a brand new action adventure platformer, which will be released in late 2022 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch platforms. While it will be inspired by Indonesian myths and Bornean folktales in a similar way, it will be a fast-paced, third-person, 3D action shooter that will put a high fantasy spin on local legends and tale, with minimalist storytelling and a focus on atmosphere.

The project was unveiled in a new devlog video from Ozysoft, which began with a series of updates for Pulang Insanity, including new controller support as well as frame rate optimizations for the game. Thematic influences and visual style for Project Buramato are drawn from Bornean Folktales, and judging by the game's announcement trailer, The game’s atmosphere and aesthetics seems to be inspired by the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with hints of Xenoblade Chronicles and Ni No Kuni.

Players will engage in fights against mythical creatures in Project Buramoto, which will feature fast-paced action in third-person perspective. Combat is carried out through the use of third-person shooting mechanics that are based on magic. During their exploration of the beautiful semi-open world environments, players will encounter minimalist storytelling that is told primarily through the game's atmosphere.

The game was made possible by the Indigo Game Startup Incubation program, which provides Indonesian game developers with development funding, mentoring, and co-working space, as well as co-working space.


Ozysoft has announced that a prototype alpha demo will be released in late 2021, and that the full version of Project Buramoto will be released in late 2022 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
