Before the announcement of the blockchain technology in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, the company held its 5th NTP last January where it was revealed that there are 20 games that are currently being developed by Netmarble.

And a month after the 5th NTP, Netmarble launched its proprietary blockchain ecosystem “MBX”. The MBX token was revealed last February and it recently started servicing the MARBLEX Wallet, which uses a Klaytn mainnet based blockchain ecosystem.

And as the game will support blockchain technology, one of the Discord users in the game’s official Discord asked why it was necessary to add this technology. The user was answered by the main moderator named Natto.

“NFT is just added to the game as another ‘system’. It didn’t change anything in the game – just another option for adventurers to explore,” Natto explained.

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is a mobile MMORPG based on the Ni no Kuni IP. It features a “Ghibli-ish art” because of its collaboration with Studio Ghibli. It is also famous for its collaboration with Level Five. Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is expected to be released globally in early summer this year.
