NieR Re[in]carnation's newest trailer was just shown in their YouTube Channel and it has been garnering attention to various gamers, others who are into his works are excited while some are worried since it's a mobile game, and you know that Western folks still have huge negative stigma regarding mobile games, but enough about that. In the latest trailer we saw footage of gameplay and what to expect in the game so let's dive right in.
What is the Gameplay?
We can see that there is that exploration is one of the aspects that they keep showing to us. It won't be too boring when you see the scenery and gaze at it while you're going to the place that you're supposed to go in that game. There are times you will travel in 2D but majority it seems that you'll be exploring in 3D, that's great news.
From what we see in the battle system, it seems to have took somewhat of a turn-based or realtime battle system. It is still unclear as to what is what, but from the video you can see that the middle character attacked while the left side is currently attacking, which is interesting if it's real time. There will be waves of enemies that will come for you and your party to defeat and finally, it seems that there are skills to be activated and cooldowns are implemented. Overall, it's something that we can learn easy but interesting how it will turn out to be. Hope they unveil more in the coming days.
Feeling the Atmosphere
As with Yoko Taro's games, you can always expect the oozing atmosphere matching with its graphics, in the trailer, we can see the places that the characters went are filled with it. The great graphics that come along with the game just complements it making it really breathtaking to see as a mobile game. Exploring the game like said earlier will definitely be fun with this type of feel.
Overall
Well, this is a trailer and we cannot make it like a full impressions list but from what we see, it will have a great NieR experience from the touch of your palm, if this game turns out what we expect, then mobile gaming will truly have another leap.
Closed Beta News
Japanese residents can now start trying out the game in the closed beta! It is up until July 26, 2020. Closed beta will tentatively run from July 29 to August 5, 10,000 each from iOS and Android will be accepted to test the game. While this is up for the Japanese playerbase, we currently have no ideas when if it will release a global version but looking at how greatly SINoALICE has been accepted by both Yoko Taro and NieR fanbases, they might have an idea to release it so keep your hopes up!
Conclusion
While other NieR fans are skeptical, maybe Re[in]carnation will have their opinions about mobile games change, the stigma is strong but if they truly want to have another experience in the franchise then partaking in the game is a must for them. As for me, I am definitely curious and will keep on checking this one out. Is it gacha? Some say yeah, but I haven't seen much strong evidence, I need to see a "rolling" video first or a text confirming before I say. But what is your take in this game? Tell us in the comments below!
