Should I spend my hard-earned money on a PS5 right now? Is it worth it or should I just wait? Those are some questions Pinoys have been asking since its release back in November of last year. Well if you’re on the fence about it, you’ve come to the right place because I will tell you right now, you don’t need one just yet. Allow me to explain.
Although sold out right now, a PS5 on Datablitz would cost P23,990 - P27,990, that is quite a hefty price tag especially when you take into account the lack of exclusives. At launch, the only noteworthy game to take into account is Demon Souls so if you’re not really into dying over and over again, I wouldn’t suggest buying a PS5 right now.
Now, let’s talk about the PS5’s backward compatibility. This feature means that you can play your PS4 games on a PS5 console, no strings attached! That’s great and all but if I can play PS4 games on my PS4, why should I even upgrade to a PS5? Well, the PS5 offers upscaled resolution and higher frame rates. So if you don’t really care about the small boost in performance and the high res graphics then it’s kinda hard to warrant the steep price tag of the PS5.
This is just my opinion and we have to remember that the PS5 just launched a few months ago so more games will come and the price will drop. But for now, it’s better to just save your money and enjoy whatever console or device you’re playing with right now.
