Sega has nurtured some games that has spanned to multiple stories, and this one is no exception. Phantasy Star Online, a RPG game that has been up since 2000 is getting a sequel that will be free-to-play that is multi-platform in JP but will be exclusive in XBOX One and PC. This exclusivity has been announced in E3 2019 and the beta for the Phantasy Star Online 2, will be coming in March 17.
However, with a catch. The Beta will only be on for XBOX One users so for the meantime, those who are playing in XBOX will have the experience to play the game which has been anticipated by a lot of people both from those who have played the original series and those who are curious in the game but unable to enter because they can't afford to pay the base price. Since this will be free-to-play, this will be the avenue of those who want to see the game for itself.
This game is hyped furthermore since PSO2 has not been out in Asia since 2012. JP had a PC version since July 4, 2012, PSVita on February 28, 2013, PS4 on April 20, 2016 and finally a Switch version in April 4, 2018. This barred a lot of global players to test it out. But the wait is almost over. Here's their tweet.
For those who want to try it out, go give it a shot, especially if you play on XBOX. For the PC users, you need to wait a bit. We still don't know why they left out the PC version for the beta but let us hope it is a good reason and will create a big impact for those who are truly anticipating this game since its release.
So are you going to pick up PSO2 once it has the open beta on XBOX? Will you wait until PC gets their fair share. Tell us on the comments below!
